Gateway is a 1992 interactive fiction video game released by Legend Entertainment, and written by Glen Dahlgren and Mike Verdu. It is based on Frederik Pohl's Heechee universe.
The sequel to the original Gateway game, this is also a text based (but graphically enhanced) text game, in which you will explore hazardous situations and new worlds, and ultimately find out the fate of the mystic Heechee race.
The game has a very simple premise: guide the character through a series of rooms. Solve puzzles to advance.
Gateway III – the lengthiest installment in the Gateway series by far – is a completely new addition that loosely builds upon the previous games in surprising and discomforting ways.
