Mario Bros. is an arcade game published by Nintendo and developed by Shigeru Miyamoto. The platform puzzle which first introduced Luigi to the world has both single and multiplayer action with two differing game types, but with the same objective. Crabs, turtles and fighter flies must be cleared out by jumping underneath the platform they sit on, then kicking them away. Each level is cleared when a set number of coins is collected. For the two player mode, the first to collect the set amount of coins wins.

Mario's Bombs Away is a game for the Game & Watch. It was one of the six games made for the Panorama line. The game involves Mario, a soldier in this game, on a mission to receive a bomb from his buddy on the left side of the screen and carry it to his troop on the other side. The enemy is waiting in the trees in his path, so he must keep his bomb away from their torches.

Mario Clash is the first 3D stereoscopic Mario game released for the Virtual Boy. The game is a return to the style of the original Mario Bros. To progress through the game, Mario must knock enemies off platforms using Turtle Shells. There are always two Koopas; if one gets knocked off, another one takes its place. Many enemies need to be hit from the side, thus Mario must throw shells from the background to the foreground and vice-versa in order to knock them off.

Punch Ball Mario Bros. is very similar to Mario Bros., but with new objects called Punch Balls that could now be thrown to stun enemies. Once stunned, the hit enemy could be hit like normal. The details of the licensing of this game are not clear, but Punch Ball Mario Bros. is probably one of the earliest licensed Mario games. It is unknown why Hudson Soft was permitted the rights to and chose to make the game.

Mario Bros. Special is a game developed by Hudson Soft. Like Punch Ball Mario Bros., the game is not a straight port of Mario Bros, but more of a sequel. It has adjustments to the game's graphics and sounds and even a bonus timer.

Mario Bros. is a title for the Game & Watch. Despite its name, it has no similarity to the arcade game Mario Bros. Instead of plumbing, Mario and Luigi are working at a bottling factory and must prepare packages of bottles to load onto a delivery truck. This game, played on the Multi Screen model of the Game & Watch, a few months before the much more popular arcade title, making it the first game to feature Luigi.

Mario's Cement Factory is a Game & Watch game. Two versions of the game were produced: the first was for the Game & Watch Table Top and the second was a more conventional New Wide Screen Game & Watch. In both versions, Mario's mission in the cement factory is to open doors to prevent cement containers from overflowing. To get to the different containers, Mario has to jump onto moving platforms. The game was remade as a downloadable DSiWare title.
