The player can also create their own piece of music using a selection of notes and themes, create greeting cards and animations, or play a game of "Gnat Attack", where they use the mouse to control a swatter to swat flies.

Mario Paint 64 is a canceled Mario game for the Nintendo 64DD which would have served as a follow-up to Mario Paint. Only a few details were confirmed. Mario Paint BS Ban - Yuushou Sakuhin Naizou Version (「マリオペイントＢＳ版 (優勝作品内蔵バージョン)」) was a second downloadable version for the Satellaview that ran between December 28, 1997 and January 31, 1998. It is a modified version of the original Mario Paint BS Ban that includes the winning design from the associated "Mario Paint Contest". The winning picture was designed by a Tokyo-based gamer named Hiroko Mizota (溝田 祐子), and it is entitled "Dreaming of the Moon."
