Ethan Waber, the main character, and his little sister, Lumia Waber, are at the celebration of the 100th year anniversary of the Alliance Space Fleet on the GUARDIANS Space station. The celebration is interrupted when a mysterious meteor shower almost destroys the entire fleet. During evacuation, Ethan and Lumia split off of the main evacuation route and collapsing rubble separates Lumia from Ethan. Ethan then meets up with a GUARDIAN named Leo, but they are attacked by a strange creature. The creature paralyzes Leo and Ethan takes his handgun and kills the creature. Leo then tells Ethan to find his sister and that a rescue team is on the way.

Sega's long-running RPG goes handheld for the first time in North America with Phantasy Star Portable, a story set between the events of Phantasy Star Universe and Ambition of the Illuminus. Players return to the Gurhal system where they join the new character Vivienne in an attempt to investigate and clear out an area contaminated after the perceived eradication of the alien SEED menace. Gamers can choose from a wide variety of options when creating a custom avatar, and then set about meeting new characters and collecting more than 150 items. Multiplayer fans can also join up to three friends for wireless co-operative exploration and combat.
Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity (or PSP2∞) is an enhanced version of PSP2 released on 2/24/2011 in Japan. The game features a new muiltiplayer lobby, new storyline, a new race called Dumans, and the new weapons will take the total count to over 3,000.

It brings a more personalized and interactive universe to the series. The online multiplayer world has been expanded, enriching the battle experience for up to six players with additional new maps and levels and lobbies. Gamers now have more customization options for their characters with additional weapons, armor and clothing, and they can bring this greater level of customization into their rooms, with the new room grid system that allows full customization of their personal space.
