Mario's Time Machine is an edutainment title and the successor of Mario is Missing! The game is meant to teach younger players basic world history and is the last Mario Discovery Series game before discontinuation. This game and Hotel Mario are the only games in the Mario franchise in which Mario as a protagonist has full lines of dialogue. The objective of the game is to return the historical artifacts to their proper time periods thanks to the central hub. As soon as you enter a certain time period you need to explore and interact with various residents of the area in order to get more information about the artifact, the period itself and the person connected to it.

Mario Is Missing! is an educational game and the first game where Luigi is the main protagonist with Mario in a supporting role. The main gameplay consists of moving around a city in side-scrolling manner while jumping on Koopas to collect stolen artifacts. Luigi then must secure the city by taking these artifacts to their respective locations and correctly answering two questions about the landmark.The computer version is a point-and-click adventure game, while the NES and SNES versions have more of an emphasis on platforming.

The Brain follows the same premise as its predecessor Life & Death, wherein the player controls an up-and-coming surgeon who must perform simulated surgery on patients with varying problems. The sequel focuses on the brain, whereas the first game focused on the abdomen.

The game is divided into 5 different sections focusing on baby animals, animal facts, animal habitats, information on the San Diego Zoo itself and all about saving endangered animals from extinction. The content consists of several video clips, audio, photos and articles.

Mario's Early Years! Fun with Numbers is an educational Mario game that taught numbers and basic geometry to children. The game takes place on a set of islands to which Mario and Princess Peach sail. The player can click one of the islands to enter, after which the player sees Luigi asleep. Once the player clicks him, various activities must be performed to learn. Activities include counting objects, identifying shapes, comparing sizes, and sorting.

Mario's Early Years: Fun With Letters is a collection of letter-related activities for kids ages 3 to 6. Playing with either Mario or Princess Toadstool, you select from 10 different activity worlds each filled with different activities that range from letter recognition to sentence fill-in, letter-sound recognition, vowel recognition, etc. Each activity can be played in either Discovery mode, where you are free to do what you wish, or in Learning mode, where Luigi guides you through the activities.

Mario's Early Years! Preschool Fun is an educational developed for children under six years of age. The game is set around a group of islands, where each island teaches a different subject to the players. Part of the Mario's Early Years educational series, Preschool Fun is different from the others because it doesn't specialize in a specific subject. Instead, it teaches about the body, shapes, animal noises, counting, opposites, and colors. However, several of the activities share the common theme of following instructions. This was the last of three educational games to be released.

Mario's Mission Earth was a cancelled third installment of the SNES educational games that would've followed a similar formula to Mario is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine, with the main focus being set on the solar system. Nothing is known about the project apart from a mention on the resume of Mark Knight, the composer for the SNES versions of Mario is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine.
