Neocron is a 2002 post-apocalyptic cyberpunk massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) developed by Reakktor Media GmbH (based in Hannover, Germany) and published by cdv Software Entertainment. It is considered the first cyberpunk-genre MMORPG, and is designed to integrate elements of first-person shooter games. Neocron was released in 2002 and the sequel, Neocron 2: Beyond Dome of York, was released in 2004. Both games were developed by Reakktor Media GmbH, but unfortunately the company went into insolvency in 2012 but survived and is now known as Reakktor Studios. A small Developer team of passionate fans have come together to revive, maintain and further develop the game, and have set up a Server for the public to experience the game that we hold so close to our heart.
