It is two hundred years after the beginning of the "Space Era", a time period when civilization began expanding into space. However, by the start of the 21st century, two meteors struck and destroyed much of the Earth, sending humanity into chaos. By year 179 of the Space Era, secret technology, dubbed Extra-Over Technology, or EOT, was discovered by the Earth Federal Government within a third meteor that had hit Earth at the Marquesas Islands in the South Pacific. Dr. Bian Zoldark, while investigating the meteor, also found out that the creators of the Extra-Over Technology were heading to Earth to reclaim it. In order to defend earth, the government starts to develop a group of humanoid mecha, known as Personal Troopers. The alien race that created Extra-Over Technology, called the Aerogaters by the Earth Federal Government, initially attacks an Earth ship sent out to investigate their presence in the far reaches of the solar system. This initial skirmish ends in a defeat for the Aerogaters, prompting them to sue for negotiations with the Earth Federation Army. Talks are arranged to take place at a secret facility in Antarctica, but the talks are targeted by a rogue faction called the Divine Crusaders. The Divine Crusaders destroys the Aerogater delegation, then turn on the Federation forces. Bian Zoldark, revealing himself to be the leader of the Divine Crusaders, announces the existence of the Aerogaters to the world and rebel against the Earth Government. As Earth spins into civil war, a new Aerogater force is on the move, seeking to reclaim their lost technology...

The Japanese animé series known as Gundam Wing is the basis for Gundam Battle Assault, a 2D one-on-one fighting game for the PlayStation. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the SD Gundam SRPG series, SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays is the second title in the series built on the new 3D engine that debuted with the previous title, SD Gundam G Generation Genesis. Like prior games in the series, Cross Rays focuses on crossing over multiple shows from the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise; focusing on the Wing, Seed, 00 and Iron-Blooded Orphans universes for this installment. SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays releases in Japan and Asia in 2019 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Journey to Jaburo is an action game based directly on the Mobile Suit Gundam films and series. The game begins at the start of the series and ends at the ending of the second film. The game plays in an action game format with a standard third person view. It features newly hand animated cutscenes that depict events from the original television series as well as a CGI opening depicting a space battle from the One Year War and then a scene of the Gundam destroying several Zaku IIs before being attacked by Char Aznable. It is also the prequel to Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space. The English dub of the video game features the voices of the actors who were cast for the Mobile Suit Gundam television series as with most games subsequent to the series' dubbing, rather than the English cast of the films. Journey to Jaburo takes place during the One Year War, and depicts the crew of the White Base making their way from the Side 7 sector of space colonies to the Federation headquarters at Jaburo. The game starts at Amuro Ray's home of Side 7, where three Zaku mobile suits attack the Federation's prototype mobile suit weapons. Amuro, in the confusion, fights the Zaku units in the Gundam, and is assigned to the White Base as the Gundam's pilot. After the White Base leaves the colony, it is pursued by Char Aznable, "The Red Comet". Char attacks the White Base during re-entry (where the power of the Gundam's beam rifle was revealed), which diverts them into the Zeon-controlled territory of North America. After going through many Zeon defenses (including Garma Zabi in Seattle), the White Base heads into Asia, where they battle Ramba Ral, an ace pilot who raised Sayla Mass when she was a child. After Ramba Ral commits suicide by jumping into Gundam's hand with a grenade, the White Base crew makes their way to Belfast for repairs. After they leave Belfast, they eventually make it to Jaburo, where Char's "Mad Angler" squadron finds the location of the base, and launches a massive attack to conquer it. The Zeon forces are beaten back, and the White Base, now dubbed the "13th Autonomous Mobile Squadron", heads out into space.
Gundam-flavored Puyo Puyo. Kidou Gekidan Haro Ichiza: Haro no Puyo Puyo is a Puyo Puyo game based on the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, the original TV series in particular. Puyos are replaced by Haros, and several Gundam characters are playable. The game features a story mode, a verses mode, and a survival mode where random characters throw garbage Haros into the player's field. Whenever a chain is completed, the chosen character will shout a famous phrase from the anime series; the game provides a large number of phrases that can be assigned to each character by the player.

It is the sequel to Gundam Seed: Rengou vs. Z.A.F.T. with a slightly revised fighting system, new units and characters, and updates to old characters. Playable characters and units are taken from Gundam SEED as well its sequel Gundam SEED Destiny. Whereas the console version of its prequel had only a few units and playable characters from the beginning of Gundam SEED Destiny such as the Impulse Gundam, RvZ2 includes characters and units from the entire series, such as the Strike Freedom Gundam and Infinite Justice Gundam.
