As the title states, this is the home conversion of the arcade rail-shooter based on the film Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Up to two players shoot through future and present levels as robotic killers reprogrammed to serve the human resistance. Both players wield a machine gun with infinite ammo that lowers its firing rate (overheats) as it is continuously fired. A secondary weapon (missile launchers in the future, shotguns in the present) has limited ammo but deals heavy damage. Powerups inside the game world include secondary weapon ammo and coolant for the machine guns, and are shot to be collected. T2: The Arcade Game features seven levels based on specific scenes or general concepts in the film. The first four levels act as a prelude, as the player guns down waves of metal Terminators across a post-apocalyptic Battlefield, a besieged Human Hideout, and through the security checkpoints of the enemy supercomputer SkyNet. After destroying the computer, players travel back in time to protect John and Sarah Connor, while also destroying every scrap of SkyNet research at the headquarters of its manufacturer. From there, players must fend off the indestructible T-1000 until the final showdown in the Steel Mill. Assets from the movie are used when possible, such as voice clips from Arnold Schwarzenegger, and close-up digital stills of Robert Patrick for the final battle against the T-1000. The Genesis and SNES versions also support lightguns (the Menacer and Super Scope, respectively).

Terminator for the Atari 8-Bit is a platform shooter game. The main character of the game will be transferred to five different periods of history: Stone Age, Ancient Egypt, Medieval Malbork, Oklahoma City in XIX century, Los Angeles 1993. The player's task is to find the indicated number of the chips, kill the cyborg guardian and reach the next level teleporter. Terminator may use arms and bombs in the fight against numerous enemies, although the guardian cyborg is immune to the fist attack. In exceptional cases, like stuck in place with no return, Terminator may immediately relocate himself to the start position, although this ability is limited to five times use.

The J2ME/Java mobile phone version, based on the film of the same name. Enemies enter the screen either from left, right, top or bottom of the screen. The screen is divided into nine parts (one part for each button of the phone). Press the appropriate button to shoot the target inside that part of the screen. Beware: some enemies require more than a simple shot. Bonuses are falling from the sky (can be points, grenades or life). Pick them up to survive. You can also enter a shop where you can buy special weapons that will allow you to kill enemies faster.

Captures are animated a la Battle Chess, but the battles take place off the board, in futuristic wastelands and similar stages. The game offers several difficulties and play styles to choose from, along with time control, ratings on the USCF scale over different time-frames and other niceties. Oddly enough, there's no 2D board.

The Game Boy Advance title is an isometric shooter with 10 single-player levels. Levels are made up of rooms with specific objectives (defend, survive, etc.) for each. The Terminator can fire a variety of projectile weapons, throw explosives, and can punch effectively when all else fails. A few levels also include vehicles to control. The Terminator can also activate the films' red-tinted Terminator vision for a limited time, to spot hidden items or areas and cause additional damage to enemies. The Terminator: Future Shock is a first-person shooter computer game released by Bethesda Softworks in 1995. The game depicts Judgment Day as happening in 1995, then the setting jumps forward to Los Angeles in the year 2015. The gamer plays a human escaping entrapment by Terminators. After escaping hostile enemy territory in the first mission, the player meets with John Connor, the leader of the Resistance. From that point on, one plays as a Resistance fighter. Skynet's uprising in 1990 has left most of humanity dead, with control in Skynet's hands. All around is death and decay, scattered with remnants of a past society shattered. Future Shock is played in the first person perspective at all times. Each level in the game requires the player to solve a number of objectives before continuing to the next level, while fighting enemy robots with a wide variety of guns and grenades. Another obstacle in each level is the harsh terrain, as many areas contain too much radiation for the player character to remain alive. The terrain is navigated in three ways, 'on foot', in a jeep with a mounted cannon, or in an Aerial Hunter-Killer.
