The game has been re-reissued later in the SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 compilation, which was released on May 1, 2008.

Challenger is a frantic single-screen shoot 'em up. The player is in their craft at the bottom of the screen, shooting bursts of three shots at 45 degree angles at flashing polygons.
