Malasombra is a retro-inspired action-adventure game developed by 4MHz for the NES. Blending action-platforming, adventure, RPG, and Metroidvania-inspired progression, the game features magical transformations that grant new abilities, interconnected environments, NPC interactions, shops, hidden secrets, and a story-driven campaign designed for both modern players and retro enthusiasts. Developed over more than five years using a custom NES engine written in C and Assembly, Malasombra was released in both digital and physical cartridge editions.
