Chessmaster is the mobile version of the long running PC chess game series. It is similar to the Palm OS game released two years earlier but has some differences in available game modes and features. It is played from a simple top down perspective with 2D graphics but there are several different chess sets to choose from. Games can be played either human vs. human or human vs. computer with eleven different computer skill levels to choose from. During games it is possible to ask for a quick advice and the game then suggests the next move. It is also possible to show opening hints as well as info on legal squares and threatened pieces. There are also options to take back moves and to switch sides during a game. In addition to the main game mode there is also a quiz mode and classic games. The quiz mode is a series of ten chess puzzles which has to be solved in the shortest time to give a good score. Classic games are recreations of real life chess matches.

Within the text are multiple icons which lead to supplemental scientific information, animations and videos. Oslo's Coloring Book:A drawing program which can be used for own creations or coloring included pictures. Oslo's WaterWorks BoardGame: A virtual board game. First the player chooses the aggregate phase of the playing stone which means either 0, 1 or 2 advances on the board. The second step is clicking the spinning button which gives two randomly generated numbers: one of them can be chosen and the number is added to the number of moves which are executed afterwards. Depending on the field the player lands on, special effects may take place: receiving clams or having the aggregate phase locked for the next move. The goal is to collect as many clamps before the first player reaches the end of the road. In addition there are a few short animations which can be triggered in the main menu.

Turochamp is a chess program developed by Alan Turing and David Champernowne in 1948. It was created as part of research by the pair into computer science and machine learning. Turochamp is capable of playing an entire chess game against a human player at a low level of play by calculating all potential moves and all potential player moves in response, as well as some further moves it deems considerable. It then assigns point values to each game state, and selects the move resulting in the highest point value. Turochamp is the earliest known computer game to enter development, but was never completed by Turing and Champernowne, as its algorithm was too complex to be run by the early computers of the time such as the Automatic Computing Engine.
