Welcome to the planet «Zombotron», inhabited by human-mutants or just stupid zombies. Nobody knows where they come from and what they eat. During the colonization of the planet people built several laboratories to create bio-robots to clean the planet from evil, but something was wrong. There was no people on the planet Zombotron, but those laboratories still operate under the computer’s control. You are one of the few bio-robots and so will you be able to complete this mission?
Turrican is a 1990 video game programmed and designed by Manfred Trenz. It was first developed for the Commodore 64 by Rainbow Arts, but was ported to other systems later. In addition to concept design and character creation, Trenz personally programmed Turrican on the Commodore 64. A sequel, Turrican II, followed 1991 for the Commodore 64 and other platforms.
The PK character may be unfamiliar to American audiences, but he is popular in Italy (and some other parts of Europe) through a series of comic books. A.M.C.: Astro Marine Corps is a sideways scrolling shooter in which you control a member of the Astro Marine Corps who has to blast his way through the various alien infested levels. You have three lives and each life has an energy bar which is depleted by contact with aliens and can be replenished by picking up the 'E' powerup. Other powerups include three way fire and an overhead shield. There are various instant death hazards you must avoid such as a plant which smothers you and a dragon which devours you and spits out your bones.
