Hard Truck 2: King of the Road

Hard Truck 2 is the original version of the more well-known upgraded release called Hard Truck 2: King of the Road. Some of the major differences that separate this release are the lack of extended interface at gas and repair stations that allows player to choose how much fuel to fill or which parts of the car to repair, the lack of ability to buy lighter vehicles such as BMW M5 at the beginning of the game or even start playing as one immediately, weaker AI, far better rewards at "The Circuit", the lack of need to stop for refueling/upgrading in the "Simulator" mode, and some other elements. This original version cannot be upgraded to the Kind of the Road re-release via patching. It was initially released in US back in 2000 (v4.0), followed by a few updated versions that also saw release in some European countries as well (such as v5.8 being released in Portugal and Lithuania). Original Russian release v6.5 never had an official English translation, yet v6.5-7.4 were localized and released in some European countries (such as Lithuania). The upgraded version King of the Road 1.0 released in 2002 wasn't compatible with its predecessor and started a completely new version numeration, effectively becoming a separate expanded version of the game.

King of the Road is a Trucking simulator developed by SoftLab-NSK for PC, and released on the 7th June, 2002.

You can choose to race with other tracks in two or three simple tracks, and there is a mode where you can just drive a truck to deliver cargo to your designated location. The second mode might be bit boring, since you do nothing but drive a truck and do nothing more, but it's worth it for two reasons - primarily the extremely beautiful landscape you drive through. It is designed with the utmost care and detail and you can really feel like you're really there. And secondly, the game simulates the job of a truck driver pretty accurately. While driving, you get to experience what a real truck driver feels and does on the road. Now, multiply that by a 1000 miles. But mostly, this is a truck racing game. You can change the view from behind the wheel to outside of the truck, whatever you like. There is also a good rearview mirror that helps you while driving. Overall, this is a fantastic truck simulation and racing game and you should try this one and the games sequels, Hard Truck 2 and the rest of the game's series.

There are three main game types. The first two are single race and tournament and the last is a knockout race. Single races allow players to become familiar with the circuits and increase their skill of any one of the six tracks. The six tracks are called Mediterranean, Mystic Peaks, Proving Grounds, Outback, North Country, and Pacific Spirit.
