Homeplanet is a computer game in the space simulator genre, developed by Revolt Games in 2003. Homeplanet became a prequel to the game Neuro due to the temporary suspension of its development. The game is currently only released on the PC platform. The FLYM engine is also used for another series of games, Babylon 5: I've Found Her. Homeplanet is notable for its implementation of a real Newtonian flight model, which allows the player to use the fighter's capabilities more widely. It is advisable to use a joystick, almost all keyboard keys and several combinations are used in the control. In 2004, an official add-on to Homeplanet was released - Homeplanet: Playing with Fire.
The pre-game plot in the game is not revealed directly during the gameplay. The plot is revealed only by the lines of the protagonist's comrades. However, the game has such a tool as a "neural network", with which you can not only learn the backstory, but also information about the technical means (spaceships) in the game, and fully restore the skills from the first training mission, the instructor's text from which is copied to a special menu. The hero begins the game as a cadet fighter pilot on the orbital station "Prometheus". As soon as the war begins, valuable materials begin to be evacuated from the training station. At this time, the player is engaged in the defense of the station from the Devian and Plector clans. After the evacuation, the station is destroyed. As a result of the first 2 missions, the player is prematurely promoted to lieutenant. After arriving at the only stationary hypergates in the Capella system, the vanguard, which includes former cadets, clears the sector of guards, a link of special ships captures them. After this, the fleet is evacuated from the system. Trying to protect the transports with refugees and equipment, pursued by the main forces of the Council of Clans of the planet Clotho, a small but well-armed fleet of Troyden tries to escape from the superior enemy. At the end of the game, the Troyden, faced with betrayal, lose most of their fleet, but find a new world capable of saving the rest.
