Badlands is effectively the spiritual successor to Atari's previous racing games Super Sprint and Championship Sprint. Similarly to the Sprint titles, Badlands pits three cars against each other in a three lap race around a small, single-screen circuit. Bonuses are present in the form of wrenches which can be traded for goods such as extra speed, extra acceleration or better tires Unlike the Sprint games, Badlands expands upon the formula, taking place in a post-apocalyptic environment and equipping each of the players with cannons. In reality, the cannons do little except to slow cars down by repeatedly shooting at them, but the shop between levels offers the possibility of arming the car with missiles which will destroy the target car, placing it at a severe disadvantage as a replacement is brought onto the track, taking a few seconds. The tracks also featured a number of new obstacles, including mines and retractable barricades.

Players compete in various championships, ranging from bootleg rallies on the outskirts of the galaxy to big-league circuits set against the goliath skylines of metropolis cityscapes. Racing game for the SNES developed by Malibu. Can be played by 1 or 2 players. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which the sport of choice is a violent auto race called "Battle Cars." The player can select from three vehicles at the start of the game in a variety of colors, to be played for the duration of the game. The choices are a spiked vehicle, a hot rod, and a formula one-style race car.

Roadkill is an top down combat racing game for the Amiga and CD32 where you either have to get to the finish line first, or be the last man standing on the road, preferably the latter. To your aid you have rockets, guided missiles and several environment based death traps.

Speed Punks is a racing video game up to two players and four with a multi-tap for PlayStation. The game involves racing around a variety of tracks while using several weapons; including items that make the racer's speed increase, missiles, and slime.

The PS1 Destruction Derby titles would put you in the seat of a high powered vehicle, in either an arena or a track, and the target was to race to the finish, while causing as much destruction to the other cars as possible.
