Banshee's Last Cry is a thrilling visual novel that takes readers on a deadly thrill ride of murder and deception. Set in a snowed in hotel lodge during Christmas, vacationers find themselves caught up in a murderous “whodunit” game when someone winds up dead.

A murder mystery sound novel developed by Chunsoft and the fourth entry in the Kamaitachi no Yoru series. This title attempted to reboot the franchise by returning to a setting similar to the first game, with a group of people trapped in a cabin during a snowstorm, while also introducing new elements such as a real-time polygonal presentation, voice acting and investigative gameplay mechanics, all firsts for the franchise.

The Legend of Valkyrie (originally titled Valkyrie no Densetsu) is an action game released by Namco in 1989. It is a follow-up to the Family Computer game Valkyrie no Bouken: Toki no Kagi Densetsu. When the seeds of gold are watered by the northern spring, a miracle will spring forth in the doomed land. The game was localized in Namco Museum Vol. 5, under the translated title.

Brothers Red and Blue G. decide to leave their idyllic village in search of their long lost father, who left the kids years ago to go treasure hunting. Unfortunately, as soon as they begin their quest, they become entangled with a mysterious girl on the run from evil monsters who holds the key to the resurrection of a great demon. Now its up to the brothers to save the world if they ever want to find their father. Treasure Hunter G is a top-down RPG in which you control your party of four characters as they explore the fantasy/sci-fi game world in search for quests and grinding their stats while the plot advances. The game is divided in a world-map screen, a top-down "town" mode and a turn-based fight mode in which the characters are taken to generic tiled top-down arenas in which they select each character and move or attack depending on their action points. Enemies can be seen on the map instead of jumping at you at random intervals, and you can freely decide whether to engage them or simply circle them around. The game uses a combination of hand-drawn sprites and CGI pre-rendered one (mostly for the main characters) with a distinct cute or Super Deformed design (as usual for most console RPGs).

Gyakuten Saiban is a visual novel adventure game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published by Capcom. It was released in 2001 for the Game Boy Advance. The story follows Phoenix Wright, a rookie defense attorney who attempts to have his clients declared "not guilty". Among other characters are Phoenix's boss, Mia Fey; his assistant and Mia's sister, Maya; and prosecutor Miles Edgeworth. The player controls Phoenix through two sets of sections: investigations and courtroom trials. During investigations they gather information and evidence. During trials they cross-examine witnesses, and answer questions from the judge, the prosecutor, and the witnesses. The story is split into four cases.

Bleak Dystopia is a first-person episodic, cinematic adventure, where you witness a dystopian society and explore the tragic life story of such society’s denizens.

A fourth-grader lives in a society without creativity, in which your school grades are the sole factor which determine your success. But there is a house nearby her own that is known for containing some source of creativity: as it is the only part of the town with color. She is told to never enter. One day, however, she does, and enters the world of another fourth-grader named Toby, who also lives in a world bereft of creativity. He is the only one who can see her, which makes him appear insane, if his aberrational personality and appearance weren't enough. After a certain amount of time, however, she disappears back to her own world, leaving him alone until she enters the house again. As a part of his mind, she witnesses the climbs and downfalls of his subconscious.

Midnight Stranger (1994) is the first of two published interactive multimedia CD-ROM based collaborations between writer and director Jeff Green and the Animatics Multimedia Corporation. Noted for its cinéma vérité style, it is a Point Of View (POV) video-based experiment in simulated socializing that takes place in an anonymous city late one night. Players navigate between several locations, and can interact with one or more people in each location to varying effects based on the player's "reactions" to that person. The main technical innovation of Midnight Stranger is its use of an emotional continuum Mood Bar for interaction with the in-story characters rather than a text interface or an itemized set of options for each interaction. The Mood Bar simulates some of the frustration and uncertainty when dealing with other people in social situations, and provides a more realistic role playing experience

Night Head: The Labyrinth is an Adventure game on Playstation, which was released in Japan in 1995. It is based on the Japanese TV drama "Night Head" and has several endings. Some conditional branches are complex, so the difficulty is very high.
