Links 2001

An add on pack for Links 2001. Included are four new Links courses (Thanksgiving Point, The Canyons Course at Bighorn, Pelican Hill 2001 version, and Banff Springs 2001 version), over 350 objects for use in the course designer, two tour players (Mike Weir and Keith Clearwater), and a Links LS course converter (this is needed to convert courses from previous versions of Links LS to Links 2001 format. There is a total of 36 courses this utility supports.)

Links Expansion Pack Volume 2 owners will be able to line it up in the natural desert terrain of Arizona’s Stone Canyon Club or lakeside on the Robert Trent Jones Alabama Golf Trail‘s Links Course at Grand National. Also, players can tee off on the newly-updated dramatic cliff-lined fairways of The Fazio Foothills Course at Barton Creek, and enjoy updated graphics on the panoramic scenery and challenge of Scottsdale‘s Troon North. As an added bonus, PC golfers can enjoy Ayrshire Dunes (also known as northern Dunes), a fictional course created with the Arnold Palmer Course Designer by Links enthusiast Mike Jones.

The game features several types of play, including the development of golfers in a simulated PGA Tour environment. Among other things, the game also features a set of famous courses and players. Also it includes the Stroke Play, Match Play, and Skins Play among other numerous methods of play. It also includes the Four Ball, Best Ball, and Stableford modes of play. By being able to customize golfers and advancing that character through several stages (from amateur to pro) the game allows a high level of identification with the character. The virtual ego can be equipped with various pieces of equipment and styled according to the wishes of the player. Awesome Golf is as the name suggests, a golf simulator. There are 3 courses to play: one in the U.K one in the U.S and the third one in Japan. The gameplay involves you lining up your shot via an overhead view which when set up switches to a third person view. Whilst in this view you need to swing the club and stop it at the desired power and then stop it on the correct symbol to get the perfect hit. If you don't get it right you will either miss the ball or hit the earth. There are 14 clubs at your disposal, 8 irons, 3 woods 2 wedges and a putter which are selected by moving the hand cursor over your Golf bag and selecting the desired club.
