SPEEDKING -- the motorcycle racing game with thrilling high speed wheel-to-wheel action against 19 other determined riders. Work your way up to world class with the 3 skill levels on 10 world famous circuits. Put on your helmet and enjoy the exhilarating challenge of high performance bike racing at 250 mph! There are 6 gears, with selection made by forward/back movement of the joystick or keys A and Z. Each gear corresponds to a particular speed range. Accelerate or brake by pressing or releasing the Fire button (or space bar). Acceleration and braking are affected by the gear to speed relationship. A neutral position must occur between gear changes if using a joystick. Colliding with other riders will result in a spill from your machine, and a subsequent time penalty to regain control. Leaving the road causes loss of speed and eventually loss of control. At the start of the race, two timers will start: Lap timer: Transferred to left side of the screen at end of each lap (lower readout). Upper readout = best lap time. Race timer: Timing of current race. If a new record is set for lap time, race time or finishing position the information will be announced on the grandstand display board. There are nineteen other riders to compete against at three skill levels selected by F8 (shift and F7). The number of laps can also be reduced to improve on the best race time as playing skill improves. A high speed preview of the selected track may be observed by pressing space bar. The race or practice mode may be aborted at any time by pressing the RESTORE key.

Checkered Flag for the Lynx is a racing game employing open-wheel racing cars (either Formula 1 or Indy-style depending on whether the box or the instructions are believed). The game features 18 tracks located in the American countryside or cities. Game modes include Practice, Single Heat and a 8-race Tournament. The start position can be set randomly or determined in a qualifying lap and the length of a race can be set between 1 and 50 laps. Also customizable are color of the car and the gender of the driver, both having only cosmetic effect. Gameplay is Pole Position style, with the own car seen from behind, a perspective view of the track, and cars and roadside obstacles displayed as sprites. A graphical representation of the track, lap times, speed meter and rear view mirrors are always in display. One button accelerates, another brakes. Left and right on the joypad steers while up and down shifts gears if manual transmission (either 4 or 7 gears) has been selected beforehand. Crashing into other cars sends the own car into a spin while hitting roadside obstacles (trees, bushes, rocks or animals) reduces speed to zero. The game can be played by up to six players via a ComLynx connection. If fewer players race, remaining slots can be filled by AI-controlled drivers for a maximum of 10 cars per race.
