The Idolmaster

The Idolmaster is a popular Japanese rhythm and simulation game that focuses on the management and training of virtual pop idols. Developed by Namco (later Bandai Namco Entertainment), the game places players in the role of a producer working with a talent agency to nurture and guide aspiring idols towards stardom, and the first title in the 1st Vision era.

THE iDOLM@STER TOURS is an upcoming arcade game that was first announced on February 10th, 2023, at Japan Amusement Expo 2023. It will be the first mainline arcade game since the original game. The graphics and models from Starlit Season have been carried over with some adjustments and additional models for the newly added characters. The first location test began in the summer of 2023, and a second location test began in summer of 2024. The game is set to be released in Spring 2025.

The Idolmaster: Dearly Stars is a Japanese life simulation video game. The game is a spin-off of The Idolmaster series and its timeline coincides before the events in The Idolmaster 2. The gameplay in Dearly Stars is similar to previous games in the series, but with new elements and differences to the minigames. The gameplay was adjusted to allow the player the option to quickly play through the game's story, but head director also wanted to add in gameplay elements that would add another layer of challenge. The story is told from the perspective of three prospective pop idols introduced in Dearly Stars as they enter the talent agency 876 Production, and deals with their training on their way to stardom. The player has access to the three idols' different scenarios when playing, and each one involves a branching plot line.

The Idolmaster Live For You! is a Japanese live simulation video game in The Idolmaster series and a sequel to The Idolmaster. The gameplay in Live For You! focuses on coordinating the concert event from The Idolmaster with higher customization of the songs, stage and costumes. The game features a rhythm minigame during performances, which was developed to add a sense of unity with the audience and add excitement. The player is also able to freely manipulate how the performance looks by adjusting the position of the camera towards the idols. The story is told from the perspective of a special producer in charge of coordinating the live performances of 11 pop idols from The Idolmaster series. Including downloadable content, the game features 74 songs the idols perform: 32 songs in original versions and 42 remixes of those songs, which have been released on several music albums.

The Idolmaster 2 is a Japanese raising simulation video game in The Idolmaster series. The story in The Idolmaster 2 is told from the perspective of a producer in charge of leading and training a group of three pop idols to stardom and receive music awards. Its gameplay, while remaining similar to the previous title, features several improvements and differences, including changes in the roster of idol characters and the removal of online multiplayer elements. At the beginning of the game, the player meets the president of 765 Production and is tasked with creating a unit of three idols from nine of the agency's members. The player and the selected idols are also tasked by him to become nominated to the Idol Academy music awards festival and win awards within 52 weeks.
