It features 32 countries represented in 12 events: 100M Sprint, 110M Hurdles, Hammer, Javelin, Triple Jump, High Jump, 100M Freestyle Swimming, Olympic Sprint Cycling, Skeet Shooting, Super Heavyweight Weight Lifting, 10M Platform Diving and Kayak K1 Slalom.

The Activision Decathlon offers a comprehensive Olympic-style gaming experience, simulating all ten events of a real-life decathlon. Players can compete solo or with up to three others, tackling events such as sprints, jumps, and throws, either in sequence or individually. The gameplay mechanics blend rapid joystick movements with precise button timing, challenging players to balance speed and accuracy. Events like running require vigorous joystick waggling, while hurdles and field events demand well-timed button presses for optimal performance. Points are awarded based on performance in each event, with the highest overall score earning the coveted gold medal, creating an engaging and competitive virtual athletic experience.

Each computer athlete has a fictional name and nationality (choosing from UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, USA, Japan and the Unified Team, everyone with its own anthem snippet) and actual strengths and weaknesses: J. Balen, for instance, is a frequent 100 m and 110 m hurdles record breaker but only an average hammer thrower. Also, each computer controlled player seems better in a particular event depending on his country: Germans usually take the top spots in archery, Italians on swimming, Russians on pole vault, Americans on sprinting and so on.

The 1992 Olympic Games took place in Barcelona, Spain, and the corresponding computer game came from Ocean: The Games '92 - España. The Games '92 is divided in three parts: During preparation time, manage and train twelve athletes by sentencing them to gym time and daily practice. Game time advances with each action until the olympic games begin. In practice, heats and finals, you take control of your athletes and drive them to peak performances through rhythmical tapping of the cursor keys, and the occasional press of the space bar. Recordbreaker is a multi-event sports game for one or two players, where the player tries to achieve a world-record score in each of ten competitions. The events include: 100m sprint, 4x100m relay, Triple jump, Pole vault, Long horse, 100m swimming, Weightlifting, Horizontal bar, 100m hurdles and Shot put. The events can be played in any order, although losing an event results in the end of the game.
