Tactics Ogre is a 3D isometric tactical role-playing game. The player starts out with a band of troops, builds a small army and fights many battles with choices to make in between, that will determine which one of the eight possible endings will be reached in a non-linear storyline. The player has the option to recruit characters, control individual equipment of each character, with over six male character classes, six female character classes, three demi-human classes, and more. It is also possible to train at safe locations to prepare the army before the next battle or storyline advancement.
The game follows the adventure of a claymation character named Klaymen as he discovers his origins and his purpose in a world made entirely out of clay.

Throughout the game's seven worlds spanning ninety levels, the basic objective of each is to destroy as many Skullmonkeys as possible. Destroying the simians can be done one of two ways: firing projectile weapons or butt-bouncing off their heads.

As Raz, the player must explore the futuristic environments, solve puzzles, and fight enemies in order to uncover his past and the secrets of the facility he finds himself in. The game features a mix of third-person exploration and combat, and also includes survival elements such as managing hunger and oxygen levels. Despite its initial commercial failure, Overblood has gained a cult following over the years for its unique gameplay and intriguing story.
