BioShock Infinite is the third game in the BioShock series. It is not a direct sequel/prequel to any of the previous BioShock games but takes place in an entirely different setting, although it shares similar features, gameplay and concepts with the previous games. BioShock Infinite features a range of environments that force the player to adapt, with different weapons and strategies for each situation. Interior spaces feature close combat with enemies, but unlike previous games set in Rapture, the setting of Infinite contains open spaces with emphasis on sniping and ranged combat against as many as fifteen enemies at once.

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea is a two-part single-player expansion to BioShock Infinite. Burial at Sea primarily takes place in the underwater metropolis Rapture before the events of the first BioShock game. Development of Infinite's downloadable content commenced immediately after finishing the main game. Irrational Games was drawn to returning to the setting of Rapture and using Infinite's gameplay systems to create a version of the city before its ruin in BioShock. Reception to Burial at Sea's two episodes was mixed. While the return to Rapture was generally praised, the first episode drew criticism for its short length and a lack of differentiated gameplay. Reviews for the second episode were more positive, with multiple critics calling Burial at Sea a fitting swan song for Irrational's work on BioShock, as the studio reorganized.

This additional campaign is a self-contained narrative experience that puts players in the role of another Alpha Series Big Daddy in a previously unexplored section of Rapture. Minerva's Den shows another vision of Rapture within Minerva's Den, a high-technology center of the city, and explores the backstory of the Thinker, a supercomputer responsible for the control of many automatic devices and systems in the underwater utopia, and its creator Charles Milton Porter.

The year is 1960 and the player character, Jack, is on board a plane crossing the Atlantic ocean. Things go wrong though and the plane crashes. Jack is lucky though and finds himself outside a lighthouse. This is no ordinary lighthouse however. It leads to Rapture, an Utopian underwater city built by the tycoon Andrew Ryan. It's not long until Jack is contacted by a man called Atlas who offers Jack his support.

BioShock Infinite: Clash in the Clouds is the first downloadable content pack for BioShock Infinite. The player must complete sixty challenges across four maps, fifteen waves to each, with each wave progressively more difficult.

The Protector Trials is the third DLC for BioShock 2 and the first to expand the singleplayer mode. Players step into the role of a Big Daddy who must fight off splicers while his Little Sister harvests ADAM from corpses. It offers six new maps with three difficulty levels, new unlockables and seven new achievements/trophies. There are three new weapons and Plasmid load-outs plus a fourth bonus load-out received when all previous ones are completed.
