All Star Tennis 2000

This is a cartoon style tennis challenge that requires all your skill! Pick a character and journey through the game's tournament mode, or simply try your hand in free mode. Choose from different court surfaces and different match setup options. Offering games for one to four players, All Star Tennis is a great way to enjoy the action on centre court.

Play as 8 world class ATP / WTA tour players (including Mark Philippoussis, Richard Krajicek, Conchita Martinez & Jana Novotna) as well as 4 fictional players through a range of tournaments on grass, clay, hard court and rebound ace surfaces. Lob, volley, smash and serve past computer controlled players in singles or doubles, 4 player multiplayer doubles, and 8 player multiplayer singles and doubles tournaments.

Actua Tennis features the Actua Sports concept of a fully 3D environment with multiple camera views for both the action and the replays, and motion captured player actions. You can design your player and then put him to the test in a series of tournaments around the world. Drop, lob and smash shots are all on offer, as are singles and doubles matches for up to 4 human players. The former Australian tennis player Pat Cash provides the commentary.

The main feature of the game is the World Cup tournament itself, where the player may use either the actual groups used in the finals, or groups composed of a random selection of the included teams. Each match takes place in a recreation of the venue it was played in the actual tournament. As in the real tournament, group games do not go to extra time or a penalty shootout but knockout matches do.
