Nowadays, the inhabitants of the region are far more interested in the substantial amounts of money, which pour in by means of the nuclear test program sponsored by the government. Even the strange stories that are heard about the hospital in Melville are not taken seriously, as everyone hastily adapts to the “atomic” future.All that only changed when Brick Nash stole a plutonium-cartridge loaded truck and headed in the direction of the abandoned lab of Dr. Wells.Is the nightmare starting again?Can one safely go in the desert on the search for the lost submarine? It Came From the Desert is an action-adventure game that derives its inspiration from the many cult-horror B-Movies of the 50's and 60's, the 1954 film Them in particular. The player plays the part of Dr. Greg Bradley, a geologist and the newest resident in town. Eager to satisfy his scientific mind, Bradley sets out to examine the crash-site of a mysterious meteor, but what he finds is not at all what he had been looking for. The game takes place all over Lizard Breath, and there are several different types of action / interaction. The adventure part of the game is very linear, guiding the player in a fairly set sequence of action sections. These include first-person bug shooting, scrolling overhead shooting, and a chase sequence.

The game follows FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder (voiced by David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (voiced by Gillian Anderson) as they travel to a small town in the Rocky Mountains to dig into the source of some strange and unexplained murders. Sightings of ghostly apparitions, zombies and hints of alien presence lead them on a chase for an "inhuman" killer. During the course of the story, Mulder and Scully follow leads to a remote location in Russia and then discover, and search, a mysterious half-buried alien space ship. Players can play as Mulder or Scully as they attempt to prevent alien colonization of Earth.

As we explore these frozen wastes, misfortune strikes once again. Through the fierce blizzard, an emergency flare lights the sky, followed by a cry for help over the radio - broken, dying... No one else will be able to come to their rescue. But can we make it back - together?
