Army Men: Soldiers of Misfortune

The main focus of Army Men Mobile Ops is to complete missions by destroying objects, killing enemies, collecting intel from enemy areas, and more. Each type of soldier provides different stats and weaponry. The arena of combat is decently unique. Being soldiers, these hardened plastic paratroopers fight it out on a kitchen table, playroom, hallway, and bathroom, each battlefield littered with household debris that makes for useful cover, or just as obstacles. Crates are at many areas around those battlefields destroy one, and your men may find ammo, medical kits, and others. Crates also can be kicked open to save ammo.

The plot of Soldiers of Misfortune is a major departure from the rest of the series. No reference is made to the regular Army Men characters, or to any of the events that occurred in past games. The player assumes the role of a young boy named Timmy, who imagines himself as a toy soldier and uses weapons such as a miniature dart.

Delta Force: Urban Warfare is a first-person shooter by developer and publisher NovaLogic. It was designed to be a military simulation loosely based on the Delta Force special operations force. The storyline spans twelve missions, including a bank robbery, hostage rescue, and an assault on an offshore oil rig.

The never-ending war between the Greens and the Tans is reinforced with new strategies and tactics, as this release in 3DO's Army Men series garrisons on the GameCube. Army Men RTS features true 3D graphics and plays out across a variety of familiar, real-life environments transformed to demanding battlegrounds by the perspective of the little plastic soldiers. The original PC version of this game was developed by Pandemic, the experienced real-time strategy developers of Dark Reign 2 and Battlezone II games, and Army Men RTS is built on a version of the Dark Reign 2 game engine.

The little plastic army men you played with as a child are toys no longer! They are now living beings bent on destruction. Of course, you get to play an integral role in the conflict as Sarge, a sergeant (you were expecting another rank?) in the Green Army. While your objectives vary with each mission, the goal is to defeat the evil Tan Army using a little strategy and a lot of firepower. Since you'll also have to confront members of the Blue and Gray armies, you are essentially outnumbered three to one! Roll, duck, kneel, and cycle through your available weapons as you try to complete the objectives detailed at the beginning of each level. Missions range from search-and-destroy to rescue or reconnaissance operations, and you'll even drive one of four vehicles during the battles. Units include versions of six classic toys: Rifle Man, Grenadier, Bazooka Man, Mortar Man, Flamethrower, and Minesweeper.

Spec Ops: Covert Assault is the third game in the budget-priced Spec Ops line for the PlayStation. The series takes the first-person shooter genre and attempts to fuse it with aspects of real combat, in the hopes of giving players a sense of what it is actually like to take on dangerous black ops military missions. Covert Assault is no different in this regard, as you'll take on the role of two different elite rangers as they scour the globe, quietly ridding it of evil at every turn. In Covert Assault, you choose two rangers from a host of different soldiers with their own abilities. Select from the machine gunner, close-quarters fighter, sniper, grenadier, and rifleman. Once you've chosen your rangers, you will be able to customize them with a whole host of different guns and items such as body armor and grenades. You then enter into the game, which is made up of four different missions, ranging from the island of Sicily to the deep anonymous jungles of a far away place.

Spec Ops: Ranger Elite is a tactical shooter with an emphasis on strategy. As in earlier releases in the Spec Ops series, the player takes control of two operatives from a small group of highly trained Army Rangers in this next title from Runecraft and Take 2. Each member of the group has a specialty so choosing the right duo for a given mission is an important factor of success. The action takes place in 3D-rendered environments as the player guides the characters from a third-person perspective. In the single-player version of the game, the player takes the role of one soldier while the computer guides the other.

The original Spec Ops for PC was one of the first realistic military tactical combat simulators to be released. After its limited success it spawned many rehashes, pseudo-sequels, and mission packs all bearing the same name. The Playstation's version of the rehash is Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol. Up to two players can simultaneously play through the series of missions the game has to offer. If there's only one player the second ranger is controlled by the CPU. The single player can switch between both rangers at any time, letting the CPU control the other ranger. Join one of the most elite military task forces in the world--the U.S. Army Rangers. Play as a U.S. Special Operations Ranger Corps soldier in this third-person shooter. Your main objective: neutralize hostile terrorist threats around the world. With guns blazing or silently under the cover of darkness, navigate your team across harsh terrains of thick jungle, barren desert, arctic tundra, and dense forest. You must use stealth and tactics to your advantage. Oh, a few more squad members and weapons that range from sniper rifles to machines guns wouldn't hurt either. Take out terrorists, rescue hostages and save the free world...that's all this game is asking of you. Will you be able to complete your mission, even though you may be the lone survivor?

Army Men: Sarge's War is a 2004 game in the Army Men video game series. It was initially developed by series creator The 3DO Company but after that company's bankruptcy was purchased and completed by Global Star Software. The game is more mature and darker than earlier games in the series. Sarge makes no comical moves, holes are blown into soldiers, and the weapons are also made of metal.

This game title was cancelled. In the near future, set in the north-west region of Central America and spanning both Colombia and Venezuela, “Delta Force: Angel Falls” presents the rural, sparsely populated areas of this exotic locale. The South American environment provides a premise which is naturally beautiful and full of new millennium conflicts. Complicating matters, drug cartels have evolved beyond money to political forces rivaling established governments. Influenced by current events, the game is both topical and novel. The sometimes local philosophy of “your enemy is my friend and your friend is my enemy” gives rise to a multitude of ever-changing alliances and conflicts which drive the game’s rapid action. The culmination of the conflict takes place in the Angel Falls area of Venezuela providing both a spectacular setting and a surprise ending.
