Battlezone

Battlezone is an arcade game from Atari released in November 1980. It displays a wireframe view (using vector graphics rather than raster graphics) on a horizontal black and white (with green and red sectioned color overlay) vector monitor. Due to its novel gameplay and look, this game was very popular for many years. Throughout the 1980s, Battlezone was ported to several home computer systems (usually on the Atarisoft label), including the Apple II, the Commodore 64, the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, and the Atari XEGS. The Atari ST port contains large parts of the original 6502 code which is emulated in real time. An Atari 2600 port was also released, but has colored raster graphics due to limitations and the view is behind the tank rather than inside it.

Water In Fire 2 is a nautical-themed game about shooting down airplanes. Play as a ship, an oil platform, or a plane, and shoot down the enemies that try to take you down.

Annihilator Tank is a shareware game for DOS in which the player commands a tank and must destroy greater and greater numbers of enemy tanks in more complex situations. This culminates in the 'Combat Unlimited' level where the number of enemy tanks is unlimited and the player must destroy as many as possible before losing their only tank. The tank controls include the standard left/right forward/reverse and fire in addition to turret right, turret left and turret centre. The game screen features a small radar which shows the location of enemy targets, a compass for orientation, and a status bar. The actual game screen contains features such as trees which can be destroyed, so neither the player nor the enemy can hide behind them. The game has four save slots. The full game consists of four levels Country Carnage Wasteland Warriors Desert Destruction Combat Unlimited Only the Country Carnage level was included in the shareware release.

Set in futuristic international military environments, BattleZone puts players in control of highly maneuverable hover tanks, challenging them in close combat scenarios against their rivals. BattleZone features fast and furious gameplay, photo-realistic environments, eight unique customizable team vehicles, an assortment of high-powered weapons and multiplayer battles. The four-player WiFi mode lets players go head to head, while unlockable weapons, vehicles and upgrades add even greater depth to the gameplay experience. BattleZone provides players with six popular and well-known game modes, including Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, Hotzone, Knockout, and Fox and Hound. For casual gamers, the single player mode offers an easy learning curve for pick-up and play gaming and a tournament progression to win upgrades and enhancements.

A run & gun shooter by Konami, also known by the title Green Beret, in which the player takes the role of a soldier infiltrating a military base.

The player ships fly through a total of seven stages fighting many enemies and multiple end-level bosses. Each player ship had a semi-automatic Normal shot and Bomb Stock, appearing as a large Phoenix. Players has a total of four different weapon pick-up items to choose from. Weapon 1 is the standard Vulcan weapon, Weapon 2 is a Rapid-Fire shot, Weapon 3 is an area-effect weapon that fires in five directions, two behind the ship and Weapon 4 is a Rocket weapon. Collecting four of the same weapon pick-up allows the selected weapon to flare-out. The player ship only had one hit though and there were no Extend Bonuses.

Just like in "Defender" the player can move in both horizontal directions while a radar shows him the enemy's positions and landing platforms where the jet can be refueled and rearmed. 15 levels must be completed in order to rid the world of evil. The player only progresses to the next stage when a certain amount of helicopters are shot down.

Beach-Head II features the player pursuing the eponymous Dictator in several ways. There are four levels in the game. In the first level, called Attack, the player deploys soldiers along a path with walls to cover him from the dictator's gun. The objective is to destroy the gun. The second level involves rescuing the prisoners from deadly obstacles by clearing them with a gun. The third level's objective is to escape from the area by flying a helicopter with the prisoners out of the dictator's fortress. Finally the player and the dictator face off, on opposite cliffs, separated by water. To defeat him, the player must make him fall in the water by throwing knives at him. The Dictator tries to do the same to the player.

Last Resort is an arcade shoot 'em up video game by SNK released in 1992.
