Bid For Power

Bid For Power is a total conversion for QuakeIII that plays nothing like the original game. Players take control of Ki-powered superheros and battle it out in a mostly aerial fight. The game is highlighted by the work of a great art team and an original style, and the gameplay is extremely fast paced. BFP started out as a Dragonball Z game, and neared completion as one. We ran into legal problems and had to repopulate the universe with original things. This delayed us quite a bit, but we ended up with a population of unique and cool characters to play. If you are new to the game be prepared to have a difficult time finding a server. We had about 30 people playing at a time for about a year or two, but it has mostly died out. BFP has also been heavily modified by several different groups using the scripting system, so you may run into compatibility issues. BFP is no longer under development.

Quake III Arena is a first-person shooter built around competitive multiplayer combat. Unlike earlier entries in the Quake series, it has no story-driven campaign, and its single-player mode instead pits the player against computer-controlled bots across a series of increasingly difficult arenas. Matches take place in maps that mix gothic and technological architecture, with weapons and power-ups spawning at fixed points that players fight to control. Movement techniques such as strafe-jumping and rocket-jumping are central to high-level play. Game modes include free-for-all deathmatch, team deathmatch, one-on-one tournament duels, and capture the flag, and the game supports network and internet play along with extensive customization and modding.

Hyper Dragon Ball Z is a freeware game developed from the M.U.G.E.N engine by fans of the anime dubbed "Team Z2". The gameplay focuses on the mechanics inspired by Street Fighter and Darkstalkers with other fighting games thrown into the mix (like Marvel VS Capcom and The King of Fighters). Initially beginning as a simple brand of Dragon Ball Z characters to go against the traditional Dragon Ball Z characters introduced into M.U.G.E.N. so far (overly flashy, broken, suffering heavily from Sturgeon's Law, etc.), the Z2 team of Balthazar (idea conceiver) and Cybaster (primary coder) expanded to include various others, including inspiring some other smaller projects in the team's honor. It's come to the point that a game based on the Z2 characters was realized, and the roster expanded from Goku and Vegeta to many more.
