d20: Sweet Roll Club

19.10.2022
Tomoko may lack social skills and good grades, but there’s one thing she surely has no lack of – her vivid imagination. She uses it to change boring everyday places into something magical: the school’s backyard turns into a thick dark forest with dormant dragons, the library - into a dreadful warlock citadel and the hallways twist into mazes you would see in an ancient dungeon... Yes, extremely silly fantasies for an average high school girl. One day, Tomoko finds out about other girls in her school that imagine themselves to be brave warriors, powerful wizards or righteous paladins. Together, they decide to form a Tabletop RPG club, where they will finally be able to quench their thirst for magic and adventure.

Clannad follows the life of Tomoya Okazaki, a high school delinquent who meets many people in his last year at school, including five girls, and helps resolve their individual problems. The gameplay of Clannad follows a branching plot line which offers pre-determined scenarios with courses of interaction, and focuses on the appeal of the five female main characters by the player character. The game was ranked as the best-selling PC game sold in Japan for the time of its release, and charted in the national top 50 several more times afterwards.
