The game relies heavily on the then new full motion video feature of the 3DO. The game is a compilation of cartoons, all loosely based upon stories made famous by the Brothers Grimm. The animation for the cartoons was done by the famous Nippon Anime Corporation.
Red Hood Adventure is a side-scrolling platform slasher game. An alternative story of Little Red Riding Hood, times are difficult and the Hat is armed with weapons. Grandma needs pies again and they need to be delivered. Creatures living in the forests also want pies, and maybe not only.
A happy, easy-going girl starts on a most familiar trip to her grandmother's house, but the fairy tale doesn't tell us all the difficulties she faces on her journey. Along the way, she'll need to find and make food and visit the local village, which is inhabited by simple, sociable folk who are always ready to accept the help of a curious and kind-hearted girl.
