Upon deciding to settle down and retire from adventuring the player will now be able to marry and spend the rest of his life with a girl of his choice. If, of course, he manages to capture her heart first.
DLC adds a new story branch that sees the main character return home from France not as a wealthy and reputable warrior but as the same lowly peasant who is now scarred by war and trained to kill.
