In the year 2998, humanity has finally reached the stars, and was able to build a prosperous, peaceful society. However, a space matter known as the Black Nebula began to spread, threatening to engulf the galaxies controlled by humans. It turned out that a robotic dictator named Super Mech was behind this occurrence. The Earth sends Captain Lancer, a skillful pilot navigating the powerful CNCS1 aircraft, equipped with the most powerful weapon: the Hellfire... This is a horizontal space shooter, with the traditional premise of a lone pilot traversing hostile areas and out-manoeuvring and/or destroying quick and numerous enemies.

Ghost Pilots is a vertical-scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game released in 1991 by SNK.
Each one of Weka Invaders' 40 levels consists of a certain number of blocks which hide several Wekas that will eventually emerge and chase Waimanu, and even shoot at him sometimes. Waimanu should drive each Weka out of the blocks and eliminate them before the time runs out. Wekas can be eliminated by either shooting at them or by shaking them off the floor. Points are awarded for each block destroyed and for each eliminated Weka. Also, points are given for destroying the passing UFO, for powerup pickups and for each second left after completing the level. An additional life is awarded when 25,000 points are reached and you can earn one more life every additional 50,000 points after that.
A shooting game developed and published by Toaplan, released in 1989. The Original Japanese version of what was released in the west as Fire Shark, 'Same! Same! Same!' is notable for being single-player only and having a dramatically heightened degree of difficulty compared to its western release, as well as lacking a number of glitches that came as a result of the conversion to a 2 player game.

Gunnail is a vertical space shoot'em up. It's a very standard shooter - very fast action, and many enemies to kill. Player controls a space ship, and flies straight forward. Dariusburst is a horizontal scrolling shooter developed by Pyramid and published by Taito. It forms part of the Darius series and it is released for the PlayStation Portable in December 24, 2009. Like previous Darius games, Dariusburst is an offbeat sci-fi shooter set in outer space with aquatic-themed (typically fish-shaped) robotic enemies. In keeping with tradition, the game also features branching paths instead of the linear progression found in most video games. There are a total of 11 zones in the game, with 5 stages per run. A related arcade game titled Dariusburst Another Chronicle was released on December 17, 2010, in a 32:9 dual widescreen cabinet. An update, Dariusburst Another Chronicle EX, was released in 2011. A revised port of the original game for iOS and Android, titled Dariusburst Second Prologue, was released on February 10, 2012, and October 24, 2015 in the US. An enhanced release titled Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours has been announced for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Microsoft Windows. The game will be released in Japan by Kadokawa Games under their publishing division Chara-Ani, and was released internationally by Degica.
This futuristic shooter combines two distinct styles of gameplay into a multi-level romp through space. The colony planets of New Chicago have been overrun by gangs of Rrampon invaders, and a state-of-the-art space cruiser has been sent in to purge the infestation. It's up to the Star Breaker, and its android pilot, to destroy the enemy's airborne forces and dispatch the interlopers underground.
