Hi no Tori Houou-hen: Gaou no Bouken

Hi no Tori Hououhen: Gaou no Bouken is a licensed action platformer with block placing mechanics, based on Osamu Tezuka's Phoenix (Hi no Tori) manga series.

Scaler follows the story of a lizard-loving 12-year-old boy named Bobby "Scaler" Jenkins who accidentately stumbles across an evil plot to dominate the world through use of mutated lizards. Scaler is remembered as a niche game that brought interesting ideas and a striking visual style, being a hidden gem for fans of 3D platformers of that era.

Rescuing girlfriends is a pretty common challenge in older computer games - why can't any of these ladies look after themselves? On this occasion Pearly has been kidnapped by Fransz Dandruff, so better make sure he's hair today, gone tomorrow. The gameplay is platform based, although the player may move down platforms as well as up to the next one. There are lots of baddies (drawn in a cutesy style) who need shooting and offer rewards. Live A Live's story is split across seven seemingly unrelated chapters that can be played in any order, based on popular genres such as Western, science fiction, and mecha. Each chapter has its own plot, setting, and characters. Although the basic gameplay is the same throughout the game, each chapter adds a new factor to the basic formula, such as the stealth elements in the ninja chapter. After the first seven chapters are completed, two final chapters take place to establish the connection between the seven previous and resolve the story.

Valis: The Fantasm Soldier is a side-scrolling platformer. Yuko can jump and attack enemies with her Valis sword, which can be upgraded and used as a ranged weapon by collecting power-ups found in the stages. She can also find and use items that grant her powerful all-screen attacks or temporary invincibility. Each stage culminates with a boss battle, after which Yuko's hit points and attributes increase.

In Spider: The Video Game you control a spider that has been implanted with a neural transmitter port, cybernetic legs, and weapon accessories. You begin at a sector map which functions as a blueprint of the research laboratory which you must explore. In order to clear a level, you must collect a required number of microchips. You must also find exits in each area in order to advance to the next level. The spider is always equipped with a Slasher leg and webbing, and he is capable of enhancing his fighting ability with weapons by collecting power-ups. The weapons include homing missiles, flame throwers, boomerangs, and electro-beams. You'll need these munitions to defend yourself against other spiders, cyber-rats, toxic green frogs, and other laboratory pests in this 3-D side-scrolling platform contest.

Dragon Ball: Daimaou Fukkatsu is a role playing video game released only in Japan by Bandai on August 12, 1988. It is the second Dragon Ball video game released for the Nintendo Famicom. Daimaō Fukkatsu is the first role playing game based on the Dragon Ball series. Its gameplay was reused in the Goku-den video game series. Daimaou Fukkatsu is also one of the games included in the game compilation J Legend Retsuden for Nintendo 3DS.

Gon is a Japan-exclusive side-scrolling action video game with platforming elements for the Super Famicom published by Bandai. The game is an adaptation of the manga series Gon by Masashi Tanaka, about the daily life of a super-deformed orange carnosaur named Gon.
