Game Boy Color release of Track & Field games is different to the console and computer version in a way that it does not use 3D graphics but instead uses sprites with 2D graphics with various gameplay perspectives, depending on one of the twelve available athletic games. In this arcade companion game to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and the second arcade installment of the Mario & Sonic series. As with the Nintendo Switch version, the game takes place in Tokyo, Japan, home of the 2020 Summer Olympics, and features events from both 2020, as well as 2D Events from the 1964 Summer Olympics, which were also held in Tokyo.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is the sixth installment in the Mario & Sonic series based on the real-world 2020 Summer Olympics, which will take place in Tokyo, Japan. The game includes a number of events, including returning ones from previous Mario & Sonic titles, such as boxing, soccer, swimming, and gymnastics, and new ones, such as karate, skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing. It will also feature a mode with 2D Events where players can compete in classic 2D versions of events from the 1964 Summer Olympics. Based off older sports games, these events are played using button controls only and will only feature eight playable characters. These 2D Events' animations reflect the 8-bit Mario and 16-bit Sonic game art style.

NBA Live 97 is a basketball game with an emphasis on realism. You can choose from all of the NBA teams, create a team with players you create yourself, or choose a team formed by the All-Star players of the east or West coasts. When you create a player yourself you can customize the player to a high degree. There are over 60 offensive and 10 defensive set-ups. Match options include an exhibition match, a whole season or the playoffs.

In Skiing, your goal is to ski to the bottom of the mountain in the shortest time possible. The mountain is treacherous with plenty of trees and moguls in the way! There are two different modes of gameplay. In slalom mode, there are a series of gates you need to ski through; missing any will result in a penalty to your time. In downhill mode you just need to ski to the bottom as fast as possible. Each mode includes five different skill levels which affect the length of the course (and the number of gates in slalom mode.)
