Carol has written a book about one of her previous adventures. She has put a lot of work into it, but after receiving rejections from several publishers, her enthusiasm for the project is beginning to wane. Her hope is somewhat rekindled when a publisher who recently rejected her book sends her an SMS, telling Carol that he wants to meet her. However, the publisher is not interested in Carol’s writing skills, but in her aptitude for locating missing persons. He wants to hire her to find a missing eccentric author. Its obvious to Carol from the very beginning that it’s not an average missing person case. The author’s wife was murdered 6 years ago. Just before his disappearance, a young woman was found murdered, with pages from the author’s latest book stuffed into her mouth.

Carol is contacted by the cleaner George in the middle of a cold Swedish winter. This leads her on a journey in which she has to delve into Malte Stierngranat's illustrious life and his legacy. George is the cleaner and caretaker of Malte Stierngranat's son, Erik, and his family. The entire family, which is one of the wealthiest in the city, has gone missing.

The game is a first person point and click adventure and contains no violence or bad language. It has no action sequences, and is suitable for ages 11 and upwards.

Cold Case Summer is the ninth game in the long-running series of first-person adventure games from developer MDNA games. This is a point-and-click adventure game that involves exploring for clues and inventory items, as well as solving logic and inventory-based puzzles. The game's artwork is made from still photographs taken in Sweden, with node-based movement. As with previous games in the series, there is voice acting and background music. There is a new hotspot revealer making it somewhat easier to locate items of interest.

The Remains of Richard Fleming is a narrative detective game built for Charlmes' I Can't Write But Want To Tell A Story. The theme of the Jam was lost and this game is all about lost information which you have to piece together. The competition features a 'duck' category. You can find the 'duck' in the fourth audio call. A duck is a British cricket term for no rounds (or points) scored when batting.
