The Kingdom Of Oltaria is a peaceful one, thanks to the power of its Lord King Akinas. The king's daughter, Princess FAQS, is about to turn 16, but one day an evil old man known as the Black Master turns up determined to have FAQS for himself, and he drags her into the world of nightmares: the Black Dream. The Princes is trapped in a deep sleep, and the king summons adventurers from all over the kingdom to kill the villain and rescue the Princess. They enter the Black Dream but never return, at least, never wake up. One day, Sir Kleith, the Captain of the Royal Guard, decides to go to search for the Dream Sage in a forest to the south of Oltaria. Eventually, after a difficult journey, Kleith arrives at his destination, where the Dream Sage is training a young disciple called GAME to be a Dream Master. (A Dream Master's role is to bring peace and tranquillity to dreams and their powers must be used to heal and not to corrupt souls.) Anyway, poor old Kleith dies after delivering his message about the plight of the Princess. The Dream Sage says he's too old to undertake the task of saving the Princess but GAME can do it! This is when the action begins, as GAME falls asleep and the Black Master appears, to transport him into the first Black Dream where his skills are put to the test!

The Game of Life: RPG Jinsei Game is a Japan-only role playing game for the Family Computer that is similar to Jinsei Game, which is the Japanese version of The Game of Life. The object is to explore a city full of stores, places of employment, and learning places. Starting from home, the player must earn money and statistics in order to unlock the better features of the game. Unlike most games based on the Jinsei Game series, RPG Jinsei Game doesn't use a spinner system. Instead, the controller pad is used for movement and random encounters are featured like in Dragon Quest. The player can also talk to strangers who might either give him/her advice or do something malevolent to him/her. As in the actual Game of Life board game, the player has to choose from a series of careers ranging from a musician to a photographer and even a professional wrestler. Most of these tasks are mundane while one of the quests directly involves chasing down unidentified flying objects. Buildings that are crucial to the quest (other than shops and learning places) can be fully explored; otherwise the player simply talks to the resident. Fights can occur like in a real role-playing game. However, the players stats are used instead of hit points and magic points.

STED: Iseki Wakusei no Yabou ("STED: Starfield of Memorable Relics") is a science-fiction roleplaying game developed for the Nintendo Entertainment System by Alpha Denshi and published by K. Amusement Leasing on July 27th, 1990 in Japan. The game takes place during "Star date 0991" and has the player take control of a group of heroes as they track down a distress signal sent from a distant planet just as a significant rise in "monster activity" has been detected.

Musashi lives somewhere in medieval Japan in the village of Arima . He is the son of the famous swordsman Miyamoto Musashi and a skilled fighter himself. One day he hears of a rumor that the evil wizard Kojiro, his father's archenemy, has apparently reared up his ugly head once again!
