Nostalgia: Op.2

The cloud-based home release of the arcade series Nostalgia, released as part of Konami's Konaste line. Largely based on Nostalgia Op.3, the most recent arcade release at the time of launch.

Nostalgia: Op.3 (Op.3 meaning the third opus) is a piano based rhythm game in Konami's BEMANI franchise. It is the third game in the Nostalgia series and a spiritual successor to Konami's Keyboardmania series. The game consists of falling bars corresponding to certain areas of the keyboard. When the bars cross the judgement line it is time to play that key. There are three type of notes - Normal note which you play as normal, slide note where you slide your hand across the keyboard and trill note where you rapidly and alternately press two neighbouring keys. Op.3 adds more sorting functionality to the song selection screens, which is needed as the song list has grown in size. It also allows you to filter on your scores and grades, making it easier to improve your overall skill level in the game. Recital mode is now a toggle on the standard mode instead of another mode. This is the first time in the series where some songs are not carried over from previous version, due to licenses not being renewed. 75 songs were brought forward from Nostalgia, 97 from Nostalgia: Forte and 126 from Nostalgia: Op.2. Along with the 49 new songs in Op.3, that brings the total song list up to 347 songs (as of 27th June 2020). Since this is an currently active game, the song list will likely expand up until the release of the next game in the series.

Op.2 adds a recital mode, with more strict timing, pressure requirements on key presses and bigger penalties on misses and how many keys may be played at the same time. Recital mode also challenges you with picking songs of a certain theme to fill your game session. An enourmous settings screen was also added so that you can customize your play (scroll speed, note style, falling style etc.). The story mode added proper progression with a map screen, diverging simultaneous stories, and themed worlds with according unlockable songs. All songs from Nostalgia and Nostalgia: Forte are returning for this game. Along with the 126 new songs in Op.2, that brings the total song list up to 307 songs.

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, or simply Ouendan, is a rhythm video game developed by iNiS and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld game console in 2005, for release only in Japan. Ouendan stars a cheer squad rhythmically cheering for various troubled people, presented in game in the style of a manga comic. In each stage, players use the DS touchscreen to tap specifically marked spots that appear in rhythm to various Japanese pop songs, scoring points for accurate timing and avoiding a poor performance which can cause the stage to end prematurely. Though never released in Western markets, it was a popular import to these regions, leading to the development of the Westernized spiritual sequel Elite Beat Agents, as well as a direct Japanese sequel Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2.
