Root Film is the successor to Root Letter. Masterful storytelling meets a multitude of interactive elements in the new game from Kadokawa Games.

Root Letter (stylized √Letter) is a visual novel adventure video game that is developed and published by Kadokawa Games as the first title in their Kadokawa Game Mystery brand. In the game, the player must figure out what happened to the character of Aya, a girl who mysteriously vanished after receiving a particular letter. The gameplay will be split into two distinct parts; the adventure part, where the player interrogates characters who knew Aya in order to find more information about her, and the simulation parts, where the player relives and plays through prior interactions with Aya.

Root Letter: Last Answer implements a live-action “Drama Mode” that faithfully reproduces every location and character that appears in the game with a cast of 90 actors. By realistically reproducing the beautiful scenery of Shimane Prefecture and the people that live there, the human drama story of Root Letter that depicts the youthful regrets everyone holds and those trying to overcome them can be enjoyed as if watching a TV drama. Of course, the game also includes an “Original Mode” in which you can enjoy the Taro Minoboshi-illustrated versions of the game’s charming characters and scenic beauty of Shimane Prefecture from the previous game. Gnosia is a Sci-Fi Social Deduction RPG in which you will engage in discussion with a variety of unique characters, with the aim of identifying the Gnosia among the group. Players will have to use what information they can gather during the discussions to ascertain whom they think is Gnosia and then vote to put them into cold sleep. As you progress, your abilities will improve - but so will those of the crew. As the numbers of crew members, Gnosia, and various “roles” increase, it will become increasingly difficult to determine who is telling the truth. Work in collaboration with or against other crew members to ensure your survival until the end.
