Shalom: Knightmare III

A fantasy-themed vertical scrolling shooter released in 1986 for MSX, also available for Wii's Virtual Console in Japan. It was brought without a license to the SG-1000 in Taiwan.

In this game, you play the role of a Japanese high-school student, the leader of computer club. Above all, you like playing games. One day, you and your girlfriend are playing a game and suddenly get teleported into the game world. This is a fantasy world that resembles ancient Greek civilization. Before long you realize that you are in fact a hero who must save this world from the evil Gog, an ancient demon awaiting resurrection, otherwise you won't ever be able to return home. Shalom is the third entry in Konami's Knightmare series. Unlike the previous games, it is much less heavy on action and is structured primarily like an adventure game with emphasis on interaction with characters and exploration. You navigate your hero through a large top-down world, interacting with characters along the way. The interaction is done via a command menu with verbs such as "Look", "Talk", "Take", etc. From time to time you'll have to fight enemies. The battles take place on a separate screen, and you attack the enemy with your weapons in real time.

Knightmare II: The Maze of Galious (Majou Densetsu II: Galious no Meikyuu in Japan) is a screen-by-screen action adventure platformer released originally for MSX in 1987. It can be considered an early example of a Metroidvania game with free exploration of a large castle.

Pokémon Shield is a role-playing game set in the Galar region, a fictional land inspired by the United Kingdom. Players control a young Pokémon Trainer who catches and trains creatures called Pokémon, battling other trainers in turn-based combat. The game introduces the Dynamax and Gigantamax mechanics, which temporarily transform Pokémon into giant forms with enhanced abilities. Progression follows the traditional Gym Challenge structure, requiring players to defeat eight Gym Leaders before competing for the League Championship. The game features an open Wild Area with free-roaming Pokémon, cooperative raid battles for up to four players, and camping activities. Borderlands 3 is a first-person looter shooter set seven years after the events of Borderlands 2. Immortal: Unchained is a souls-inspired third-person shooter/action RPG.

The Elder Scrolls VI is an upcoming single-player action RPG from Bethesda Game Studios, serving as the sixth main entry in The Elder Scrolls series and the follow-up to 2011's Skyrim. The game is built on Creation Engine 3 and entered active production in 2023 following the completion of Starfield. Director Todd Howard has described the project as aiming to be the "ultimate fantasy-world simulator." The game's setting and story details remain undisclosed. It will release exclusively on Windows and Xbox platforms.

Dragon Marked For Death is a side-scrolling 2D action RPG that can played solo or with up to four players in local or online multiplayer. GreedFall is a single-player action RPG set in a fictional world inspired by 17th-century Baroque Europe. Players take the role of a diplomat arriving on a remote island inhabited by natives with supernatural abilities, now contested by colonial factions from various nations. The game emphasizes player choice, offering combat, diplomacy, and stealth approaches to quests, with decisions affecting relationships between the island's competing factions. A prequel, GreedFall 2: The Dying World, was released in 2026.
