Solomon no Kagi: Oujo Rihita no Namida is a platform-puzzle arcade game developed by Tecmo, which was subsequently brought to the Sega Master System by Salio in 1988. The game was brought to the west via other platforms as Solomon's Key, though the Master System version remained exclusive to Japan. The object of the game is get a key and then make your way to the exit. To achieve this, Solomon can create and destroy blocks, which can be used to trap enemies or as platforms.
You and Dana, the wizard of Lyrac, must unlock Solomon's scroll of secrets to restore peace in the constellations. With Dana's magic, fire, and mystical powers, you will help release the imprisoned Princess of the Fairies and harness the evil forces within the constellations. But first, you need the key! The NES port of Solomon's Key, a puzzle game developed by Tecmo in 1986 for arcade on custom hardware based on the Z80 chipset. The game is generally recognized as one of the most difficult games to appear on the NES. The player, controlling a sorcerer known only as Dana must overcome unlimited enemy spawning, challenging level designs, a countdown timer, instant death from any physical contact with enemies, and limited ways to dispatch enemies.

Some levels contain pipes through which Dana can go, burning jars that melt ice or moving monsters instead of flames. There are ten worlds plus five secret worlds that contain ten levels. The first nine worlds can be played in any order. The tenth level of a world usually features a special challenge like moving flames or monsters and lava that is slowly rising from the bottom.

The aim of the game involves players extinguishing all fires in a level in order to proceed. They do this by creating and melting ice (in a Lode Runner style) or kicking ice onto the fires. This game also has a level editor (which may expose some bugs that substantially affect the game mechanics).
