V-Rally Edition '99

V-Rally is a rally racing game initially developed by Eden Studios for the PlayStation. V-Rally was first released in Europe as V-Rally: 97 Championship Edition. Although the game has no connection to Electronic Arts' Need for Speed series, it was later published in North America by Electronic Arts under the title Need for Speed: V-Rally. Later ported to PC, N64, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color. It features 11 official rally cars and more than 40 courses with dynamic weather, terrain, and time-of-day variations. Players can fine-tune vehicle settings such as suspension, gear ratios, and steering before competing across three main modes: Arcade, Championship, and Time Trial. In Arcade mode, players advance through competitions grouped by difficulty, each consisting of four stages. Championship mode presents an eight-race tournament with points awarded for top-three finishes, while Time Trial mode focuses on racing against the clock or another vehicle for the fastest time.

V-Rally 3 for the Game Boy Advance adapts the console game of the same name to the handheld platform, offering its own selection of cars, tracks, modes and a platform-appropriate graphics engine.

Working in partnership with F1, for the first time ever, players will be able to get behind the wheel of a 2019 regulation car specifically designed in collaboration with F1’s technical team, headed up by Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds. The car, which will be available in Multiplayer, adheres to the 2019 regulations and comes with a range of livery designs offering players a new level of personalization. The 2019 F1 Team liveries will also feature on the car in early marketing materials, but will be replaced by the final Team cars ahead of the game's release.

Formation lap is almost over, as you push gently on the throttle and brutally steer one last time from left to right, trying to maintain a high temperature on your wheels. You know it's the key to get through the first corner as fast as you can. Probably it will allow you to make a good start and overtake the two cars in front of you. While gently applying pressure on the brake pedal, you try to gain every millimeter the regulation permits, and perfectly line up your front wing with the white line defining your starting position. You did this already, you know how to do it. Your right foot pushes gently gas pedal. Second red light is on, rpm hits the limiter. Third red light is on. The engine now howles loud, while you try to find the right rpms for a perfect start. Four red light is on. The heat distortion waves of the cars in front of you suggest all drivers are ready for the fight. Fifth red light is on. A fast glance to the steering wheel display. Everything is ok.
