Lost Souls is a MUD, a free text-based multi-player online RPG (role-playing game). The theme of the setting is medieval fantasy, with elements drawn from a wide variety of sources alongside entirely original content. Your character in the game battles monsters, develops skills, advances in ability, pursues quests, and explores the wide, detailed world. Lost Souls was founded in 1990, and has been under continuous development for thirty-two years. While many MUDs regard themselves as essentially finished works, Lost Souls takes pride in always working to improve its technology and design, reinventing the game experience continually.

The Abandoned Realms MUD is a fully-featured multiplayer experience with roleplaying and playerkilling. As you play the game, you will make both great friends, and vicious enemies - all real people who are playing alongside you!

The Harshlands MUD is, above all else, a role-playing game world. The game should be viewed in most ways as a traditional sit-down, pencil and paper, role-playing game, and not as a video game where the object is to tally the most kills. You can become better at your chosen trade, buy/sell, travel, fight, get a job and the scope is pretty much endless.

Akanbar is an online fantasy role playing game created by a team of developers who have spent much of their lives both playing and creating role playing worlds. The Cleft of Dimensions is a text adventure MMO (aka, a MUD) with content inspired by classic video games. Do you want to jump on goombas? Maybe you'd rather immolate them with lava or bombard them with meteors. You could always confuse them into hitting themselves. Then again, why fight goombas when you could enslave them into your army? If that doesn't work out, you've got this motorcycle you could crash into them. The Cleft has 16 character classes, each with a different play style. Gameplay in the Cleft is as much about exploring as it is about killing things. Secret treasure is hidden everywhere, waiting to be claimed by those willing to endeavour. Quests are prominent, with activities ranging from committing industrial espionage for a paranoid innkeeper to seeking the blessings of the mana spirits. To top it all off, we have an active roleplaying community to make your own story part of the Cleft.

3Scapes is a text-based multi-user dungeon. Communication across the dimensions is easily handled, as is the ability to retain your character identity (i.e. name) across all existence, but beyond that, everything else is unique. Since opening in 2009, 3Scapes has grown to become a virtual community of over 800 characters with new guilds, new areas, new quests, and new functionality. With its own cast of players, administrators, and its own unique feel, 3Scapes is a vibrant virtual world ready for you to visit, explore, and enjoy!

Aardwolf RPG is a unique and free text based roleplaying game. Aardwolf is based in the fantasy world of Andolor where magic is common and there are hundreds of exotic realms to explore, puzzles to solve and quests to complete. Aardwolf features a realistic game world with multiple continents and real geography. Each area includes a real time line-of-sight overhead map to see other characters and points of interest around you. Create your character from any one of 28 classes including fighter classes such as Soldiers, Knights, Hunters, Barbarians, Rangers, Archers, Assassins and Paladins or select a magic based class including Elementalists, Necromancers, Healers, Priests, Witches and Enchanters. Once you have choosen your race, your guild and your profession then the rest is up to you. You have absolute control over your character's actions and there are many ways to play Aardwolf.

Aabahran is a multi-user dungeon, or MUD. A MUD is a multi-player computer game that combines elements of role-playing games, hack and slash style computer games and social chat rooms. MUDs are text-driven, where players read descriptions of rooms, objects, events, other characters, and computer-controlled creatures or non-player characters (NPCs) in a virtual world. Aabahran has been in existence since June of 2000, ranking it in line with many of the long-standing MUDs still in existence. Its world is rich, dynamic and exciting. It is also a roleplaying-enforced, playerkilling MUD. What this means is that in Aabahran, you are required to play a character to its full extent. Additionally, you may kill other players (after a certain rank and within our highly balanced playerkilling ranges). In fact, because Aabahran has a balanced rare & unique item system, you may need to kill other players in order to get that special sword or shield you’ve been looking for! The world is massive, with over 10,000 unique rooms for you to explore. Because of the variety of races and classes, the game remains fresh and exciting, and endlessly replayable.
