Follow up to the 1994 multiplayer mech combat GEnie exclusive CyberStrike, CyberStrike 2 ups the ante with support for 32 players over the Internet, as well as a single player campaign.

CyberStrike is a futuristic 3D combat online game by Simutronics Corporation, involving team combat between customizable mechs, each of which is controlled by a different player. Initially exclusive to the GEnie online service, it opened in February 1993, and later that year it caused Computer Gaming World magazine to create the new category of "Online Game of the Year" so it could be awarded to CyberStrike. In 1994 it was offered in stores by MicroProse.

In a distant future on a planet called Terra Nova an epic war is waged between the AST and the ECEF. You are a "gear" pilot for one of these sides as you join the battle for supremacy. You pilot the various Heavy Gears (large Biped fighting robots) in a variety of mission either playing through the storyline for both factions or participating in the endless dynamic war going on between the two.
