Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butōden (ドラゴンボールZ 超究極武闘伝, Doragon Bōru Z Chō Kyūkyoku Butōden, lit. "Dragon Ball Z Super Ultimate Fighter") is an fighting game released on the Nintendo 3DS. The game was first announced on the April issue of Shueisha's magazine on Saturday that the 2D fighting game will arrive on the 3DS this summer. The game features over 100 fighters in both one-on-one and team battles. It will have a story mode where you go through sagas as either the heros or villains. A demo has been released for Japanese 3DS's with the help of a code. In the demo you can play as Goku, Vegeta, Teen Gohan, and Buu. You can play on 5 stages. It was released on June 11, 2015 in Japan. On June 9, 2015, two days before the Japanese release, there were reports that the game was classified on June 4th, on the Australian ratings board, which hinted the localization of the game. It was confirmed by Bandai Namco on June 23 that the game will be released in the West in mid to late October.

Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden is a fighting video game based on the anime series Dragon Ball Kai.

It is the fourth installment in the Butouden series. It features 27 playable characters, their sprites being those used in the earlier game "Dragon Ball Z - Ultimate Battle 22" for the Sony PlayStation. Also, the game's introduction is made with scenes recycled from the introduction of Ultimate Battle 22. The game also features two other exclusive modes: Group Battle and Mr. Satan mode. In Group Battle, players gets to create a team of five characters and fight against either another player or an AI-controlled character. In Mr. Satan mode, Mr. Satan is trying to raise enough money to pay off his debt to Android 18, and the player places bets on matches and cheats by using several items, such as banana peels, guns, and dynamite.

At random times in battle, the icon of your specific spirit will flash, in which if you press either O or X fast enough, your overall spirit meter will rise. When risen to the highest extent, you can unleash your ultimate. Within this game, three different buttons vary from a weak attack, or a more stronger attack. The combo system seems to range up to the max of 10 in battle. Story mode, Vs mode, and Arcade mode are the three playable modes within this game. In Story mode, you will experience various cutscenes and additional minigames. Arcade mode seems to be the same except for the fact that you will be continuously battling. Of course within Vs mode, you can battle against a friend or a com. Overall within this game, 17 characters are playable (3 of which being different versions of Yoh). It is known that Hao can also be playable, but a Gameshark code is needed. Fortunately, as well within battle, character voices will be experienced rather commonly, in which anime cutscenes will be experienced at times - such as in the intro. Overall, it seems that Shaman King: Spirit of Shamans is the best 2D fighter of its series.
