Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Gran Turismo 5 is the fifth game in the Gran Turismo racing video game series. It expands on the game's Prologue version and is the first entry of the series to be developed for PlayStation 3. The game marks the first entry in the series with online races with support for up to 16 players. Over 1,000 cars, 26 different locations, and 71 different tracks are available in the game. Night racing also returns. World Rally Championship, NASCAR and Super GT licenses are utilized for the first time in the Gran Turismo series.

On October 9, 2008, it was announced that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III will be released for a limited time only, bundled with the new 80GB PS3 model released only in Japan. The new model will have a choice of 3 colours; black, silver, and white, and will also come with the DualShock 3 controller as standard. Spec III introduces gameplay improvements and 3 new cars. New packaging has also been shown, showing the GT by Citroen car on the front instead of the Nissan GT-R. The bundle was released on October 30, 2008. On October 3, 2008 Polyphony Digital released the 5th update of GT5 Prologue to coincide with the GT by Citroën concept car unveiling at the Paris Motor Show. The contents of the update is as follows: - In Time Trial events, speed penalties have been removed, and instead incurring such a penalty now invalidates the lap time for that particular lap. - Race events have tweaked difficulty levels and increased earnings for winning a top spot. - Improved responsiveness when using the wireless controller & added key assignments for controller 2 in device. - Improved sound volume balance for sound effects and music. - Drift Trial races now feature a rolling start. - Corrected a problem where the steering controller moves while at a standstill. - Manual updated New cars For Spec III: This is the first update for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue to add new cars to the game. Three new cars were added (GT by Citroën, Ferrari California, and Lotus Evora) and all have to be acquired by completing rank a,b,c,d. The Platinum release of the game comes with the Spec III update. NOTE: GT5P: Spec II updates were included with the blu-ray disc North American release of GT5P. The Blu-ray disc of Spec III was only released in Japan with the PS3 80GB bundle on October 30, 2008. The Spec III patch for GT5P was released Worldwide on October 3, 2008.

The player arrives in Rockport City, driving a racing version of the BMW M3 GTR (E46). Following Mia Townsend (played by Josie Maran), the player proves his driving prowess as he is pursued by a veteran police officer named Sergeant Cross (played by Dean McKenzie), who vows to take down the player and end street racing in Rockport. Races seem to be in the player's favor until a particular group of racers, led by the game's antagonist, Clarence "Razor" Callahan (played by Derek Hamilton), sabotages and win the player's car in a race.

The game uses two different modes: Arcade Mode and Gran Turismo Mode. In the arcade mode, the player can freely choose the courses and vehicles they wish to use. Winning races unlocks additional cars and courses. However, Gran Turismo Mode requires the player to earn different levels of driver's licenses in order to qualify for events, and earn credits, trophies and prize cars by winning race championships. Forza Motorsport 4 is a racing video game, and the fourth in the Forza Motorsport series. Like Sony's Gran Turismo franchise, Forza games are racing simulations; heavy emphasis is placed on making the cars drive and look as realistic as possible. Races are conducted on closed circuit tracks. 500 cars are featured in the core game experience, ranging from road cars to race cars. Players can utilize Kinect to look into a corner using a new head tracking feature. This allows them to look toward the apex of a corner or at nearby cars. The controller or steering wheel is used to control the car while Kinect is used independently for viewing around the driver. Players can also use Kinect as a game controller. In this setting the game automatically accelerates and decelerates the player's vehicle utilizing a modified version of the feature known as Auto Brake in Forza Motorsport 3. The steering is controlled by placing the players arms out as if controlling an invisible steering wheel. Kinect will allow the player to use voice commands to start races and navigate menus.
