Osu!Lazer

Genre: Music Indie Arcade
osu!lazer is the open-source, next-generation client overhaul of the free-to-play rhythm game osu!, rewritten from scratch by Dean Herbert (ppy) and community contributors using the custom osu-framework. While retaining the core circle-clicking, taiko, catch, and mania gameplay rulesets of the 2007 original, osu!lazer introduces updated game mechanics, including slider end accuracy scoring, real-time score processing, cross-platform mobile parity, and a highly customizable user interface and HUD layout. Built to eventually replace the legacy stable client, osu!lazer features a built-in skin editor, an overhauled multiplayer architecture with custom room settings, extensive gameplay modifier customization, and native support across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. Player progression, beatmap downloads, and global leaderboards are integrated directly with the main osu! infrastructure.

Osu! is a and open source rhythm game originally created by Australian developer Dean Herbert in 2007. The gameplay is based on the Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan series and primarily involves clicking circles that appear on screen in time with music using a cursor or finger. The game features four rulesets: osu!standard (click circles, sliders, and spinners), osu!taiko (drum-based notes inspired by Taiko no Tatsujin), osu!catch (catching falling fruit), and osu!mania (vertically scrolling key-based notes). Levels, called beatmaps, are created and uploaded by the community, providing a large and constantly expanding library. Players can compete on global leaderboards ranked by performance points or join real-time multiplayer rooms. The game supports keyboard, mouse, and graphics tablet input.
