A "sequel" of sorts to Sensible Software's 1996 Sensible World of Soccer. Based on the teams that played in Euro '96 tournament, SWOS: European Championship Edition sports new features that make the game even more addictive than SWOS, including the ability to pull off looping headers and curved passes, trial players, international management, and more charming cartoony graphics such as animated crowd and goal celebrations. The PC version of SWOS: ECE features digitized match commentary and funny animation sequences.

Remember Sensible Soccer? Jon Hare, lead designer of the famous football series, is back with a spiritual successor, called Sociable Soccer. Hare has kicked off a £300,000 Kickstarter for Sociable Soccer, which, if successful, will lead to a download release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016. In 2006, Codemasters announced a new version of Sensible World of Soccer, developed by Kuju Sheffield, for the Xbox 360 to be released in summer 2007 on Xbox Live Arcade. It features both the classic "retro" visuals of the original SWOS, as well as new improved high definition graphics, and retains the exact gameplay of the 96/97 version of Sensible World of Soccer. Due to problems with the game's network performance, the release was delayed in order for "significant proportions" of the network code to be rewritten. After missing several previous release dates, the game appeared on Xbox Live Arcade on 19 December 2007 but was quickly pulled. A statement from Microsoft confirmed that an incorrect version of the game had been made available, in which online play was not possible. The fixed version of the game was released two days later on 21 December. The Windows version was never released.

Another unofficial update for Sensible World of Soccer 96/97 (Amiga) created by Gideon and Dom Cresswell and various others. Released exclusively on the CU Amiga Cover CD in July 1998. It had the 32 updated World Cup teams and World Cup related graphics. During the 1998 World Cup in France, the Cresswells made this special update, which was based on their '97/'98 release and contained also some new graphics. This "World Cup 98 update" was officially supported by Sensible Software and released on the Cover CD number 24 of the magazine "CU Amiga". But to use this update a hard disk installation was required which officially does not exist.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 (officially abbreviated as PES 2011 and known as World Soccer: Winning Eleven 2011 in Japan) is a football video game in the PES series, developed and published by Konami with production assistance from the Blue Sky Team. The game was announced on 9 February 2010 and released on 30 September 2010 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, aiming to compete with the FIFA series. However, the UK version of the game was released on 8 October 2010. Both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League were featured in the game, as in the previous year, and for the first time, the Copa Libertadores was fully licensed.

International Superstar Soccer (abbreviated as ISS) is a football video game in the International Superstar Soccer series by Konami. Players can train and edit their teams, and they can change the formations and tactics before the match. During the match, they can adjust camera angles, make substitutions and tactical changes, adjust the game speed, and so on. The main game element is controlling the players, making searching passes, and scoring goals.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 is the 2010 instalment of the yearly-released PES series. It introduced several improvements, including the official licensing of the Europa League (formerly the UEFA Cup). Other additions include a revamped penalty system, enhanced visuals, more distinct player characteristics, new animations, and the return of Community Mode. Network mode features lag-free matches, provided the connection is stable. The cover features Lionel Messi and Fernando Torres, and the game serves as the successor to PES 2009. Many fans viewed this edition as an opportunity for the series to reclaim the title of best football simulator, which had been lost to the FIFA series two years prior. A demo was released on September 17, with the full game launching on October 23, placing it in direct competition with the FIFA series.
