The Dragon Realms are celebrating the ‘Year of the Dragon’ when a mysterious cloaked figure emerges to steal all the Dragon Eggs. Under the spell of the evil Sorceress, an army of Rhynocs is now guarding the helpless eggs in the Forgotten Realms. With new and old friends, Spyro is on a quest to recover the lost eggs, defeat the Rhynoc army and stop the evil Sorceress.

Spyro has been brought to the land of Avalar to defeat the evil sorcerer Ripto who has brought war to Avalar’s Homeworlds. Each Homeworld is being held captive by Ripto and his minions, and it's up to Spyro to defeat them and bring peace to Avalar’s realms.

The first game in the Spyro series has been completely remade from the ground up. It stars the title character, a young purple dragon named Spyro, and his dragonfly friend, Sparx, who must journey across the Dragon Kingdom to defeat Gnasty Gnorc, who has overtaken the 5 dragon Homeworlds by trapping the other dragons in crystal and turning their hoard of gems into an army of minions.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a collection of remakes of the first three Spyro the Dragon platformers, originally developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation. Rebuilt from scratch in Unreal Engine 4 by Toys for Bob, the trilogy features fully updated visuals, rerecorded voice acting, and a rearranged soundtrack by original composer Stewart Copeland. Players control Spyro, a young dragon, across three games of 3D platforming, collecting gems, rescuing characters, and defeating enemies using fire breath and charging attacks. The collection includes unified gameplay features across all three titles and offers both original and rearranged soundtracks.

Spyro: A Hero's Tail is the fifth console game in the original Spyro series and the ninth game in the series in all. Developed by Eurocom, it was the first game in the series for the Xbox, as well as the second game in the series for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube (with the former console release being the only one of the three to support widescreen). It is also the final installment in the original Spyro continuity for home consoles. This is also the first and only Spyro game to be completely produced in Europe. The game introduces a new antagonist, Red, a former Dragon Elder banished years before the events of the game, and sees the protagonist, Spyro the Dragon, attempt to defeat him with the aid of his best friend Sparx, Hunter the Cheetah, flying penguin Sgt. Byrd, and mole Blink, who are all playable.

Spyro: Season of Ice is the first Spyro game not developed by Insomniac Games and to appear on the Game Boy Advance. Unlike the Playstation series, Seasons of Ice has the player controlling Spyro through an isometric overhead camera. However, all of Spyro's skills are still available to use, including his flame breath and glide. And the flying bonus levels make use of the Mode 7 technology in order to create the 3D like perspective.

Spyro 2: Season of Flame is the sequel to Spyro: Season of Ice. All the old characters from previous games are there, with Hunter and Bianca, and the player can also control Sheila the Kangaroo and Agent 9. Spyro has a few unusual abilities in this GBA game, including a fire/ice breath toggle. Some items can only be affected by one or the other. Unlike the PSX games, Spyro is presented primarily in an isometric view.

Spyro: Year of the Dragon is the third installment in the Spyro series and the last Spyro game Insomniac developed. In this 3D adventure, Spyro have to retrieve 150 eggs that the evil Sorceress has stolen from Dragonworld. To survive, he will have to utilize all of his signature moves along with several he's recently picked up, like the ability to control vehicles like tanks, submarines, and speedboats. The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night is a 3D action platformer which takes place right after the events at the end of The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. Players control Spyro as he searches for his friend Cynder. Initially, he has lost all of his different breath powers from the first game, but he gradually recovers the ability to breathe fire, ice, earth and electricity. New to this game is the ability for Spyro to slow down time using his newly-learned 'Dragon Time' ability. While the game has some basic puzzles involving pressing switches, the main focus is still around fighting. Spryo's primary attack is his headbutt, but he can also use his assorted breaths to defeat foes provided that he has enough magic power. He also earns blue gems from defeating foes which will allow him to level up his powers.
