Transformers: Cybertron Adventures features separate campaigns for the Autobots and Decepticons, but instead of being a third person shooter like War for Cybertron, this game is a rail shooter, utilizing a gameplay similar to Time Crisis series. Players must defeat a group of enemies in one area from a cover point. After all enemies are defeated, the character will move along a pre-defined path to another area, and so on. Occasionally during gameplay the character will transform into vehicle, and the player must control them to reach one point, destroying obstacles on the way. Offline co-op is also featured. The game delivers only 6 levels and a couple challenges.

This is the second of three video games released under the Empire Strikes Back title for home video game systems. Star Wars: Rebel Assault II - The Hidden Empire is the sequel to Star Wars: Rebel Assault. This time, however, the story is not related to the original movies. The story opens in the vicinity of the Dreighton Nebula, where Rookie One is investigating disappearances of Rebel spacecraft near Dreighton, a region rich with mythology about vanishing spacecraft. Rookie One responds to a distress call coming from a ship in the nebula. Once there, he discovers an Imperial presence. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that the Empire is somehow responsible for at least some of the more recent disappearances.
