Gameplay is similar to the previous Truxton. Truxton II has six huge areas, each with a boss at the end; the game "loops" these six areas forever. Lives are given out at 70000 points, then every 200000 points after; players start with three. There are power-ups to increase ship speed, add a smartbomb to your stock, and change/strengthen your current weapon: red fires bombs in a small area around your ship, similar to the red weapon from Robo Aleste; blue is a homing laser, similar to the blue weapon from the original Truxton; while green fires wide-reaching salvos of green shots and more or less replaces the red weapon from Truxton.
The game consists of 10 missions. Each mission takes place in a vast cavern, with interesting weather conditions. You must explore it and complete the mission objectives -- usually collecting sub parts, rescuing trapped miners, or destroying giant, epic bosses. You can also explore the levels, but keep an eye on your fuel gauge and beware the many hazards!

At the end of each level a boss awaits - every boss is heavily armed and difficult to destroy.

In keeping with tradition, the game also features branching paths instead of the linear progression found in most video games. There are a total of 11 zones in the game, with 5 stages per run. A related arcade game titled Dariusburst Another Chronicle was released on December 17, 2010, in a 32:9 dual widescreen cabinet. An update, Dariusburst Another Chronicle EX, was released in 2011. A revised port of the original game for iOS and Android, titled Dariusburst Second Prologue, was released on February 10, 2012, and October 24, 2015 in the US. An enhanced release titled Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours has been announced for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Microsoft Windows. The game will be released in Japan by Kadokawa Games under their publishing division Chara-Ani, and was released internationally by Degica.
This futuristic shooter combines two distinct styles of gameplay into a multi-level romp through space. The colony planets of New Chicago have been overrun by gangs of Rrampon invaders, and a state-of-the-art space cruiser has been sent in to purge the infestation. It's up to the Star Breaker, and its android pilot, to destroy the enemy's airborne forces and dispatch the interlopers underground.
In Philosoma, you blast through 18 vertical scrolling deep space environments in search of the mysterious distress call, destroying enemies and obstacles in your path. Go up against a variety of vehicles including the "Hover Carrier," the "Makkon," and the "Missile Walker" as you clear your way with one of four main weapons such as the Vulcan, Laser, A-Break, or Ray-B. Each weapon can be upgraded up to three times when specific power-up icons are collected. A secondary weapon such as Buster grenades, MRMs, and SRMs are equipped at the beginning of a level or acquired through a power-up.
