A 2D game set in a fantasy town inspired by the 1700s France or Italy. You play as Lilly, a young girl who is the owner of a butcher shop that sells very special types of meat. Every night Lilly goes out with the big butcher's knife to restock the shop, by murdering the citizens of the town. Lilly has been left by herself and been through some gruesome events, she is trying to reach out to her mother. Writing letters to her, asking for help and support but also about what she is doing at night. There are good and bad people in the town, like anywhere else. You need to keep a balance otherwise there will be consequences. You also need to be careful to not get arrested by the police, because what Lilly is doing is actually a crime.

He lives in an out-of-the-way part of town, where he tends to the family sunflower farm together with his mother. Life isn’t always that easy though, and Louis is incredibly lonely. That is, until you enter his life. As the player you take on the role of the Ghost Giant. And a giant you are indeed! Use your see-through hands to lift furniture, vehicles and trees. You can even rotate and open entire buildings to reveal the stories going on inside. The picturesque town of Sancourt becomes your own little dollhouse sandbox.

‘A House in California’ is a surreal, narrative game about four characters who bring a house to life. These four characters are based on relatives of mine (two grandmothers and two great-grandmothers). The game is inspired aesthetically by Mystery House, developed in 1980 by Roberta & Ken Williams. But whereas Mystery House is a mystery story about greed and murder, A House in California is more like an Imagist poem about family and memory.
